If you asked me 10 years ago if I would play games like this, I would tell you no. However, this game is one I have been waiting for some time now. There was a time when I believed a classical slice of life Romance VN could not interested me anymore following all the sci-fi ones I have played but I am happy to say that I was wrong. The story is well written and honestly, it is very heart warming but what really shines in the game is the girls and their routes. They are all unique and you can really tell this is no amateur work. I have played many VN's and romance games but this one has a particular place in my heart.


Now that the intro is done, let me explain what the game is and how I will rate it.

Story (Brief description, No spoilers): Clover Day's just as the description says follows the story of Yuuto Takakura who was adopted in a family comprising of 2 sisters, a father and their house's maid. Yuuto goes to school and is a 2nd year in High school. He has some friends that he usually hangs around with and I know this might sound cliche but his friends are mainly his childhood friends which he grew up with and went to the same school with until High school. One day two of his childhood friends whom he hasn't spoken to for many years come back to Japan where Yuuto lives and as he meets them, they mention a promise they all made when they were still kid. From then on, you as Yuuto has to choose which path he will take, which girl you will choose and which destiny you want to achieve. It's all up to you.

I rate the story a 9/10

Sound: Now this game has a great OST and well incorporated in each part of the game as well as during moments of impact. The OP also really hits different when they include that small break during which each girl narrates their feelings. This is something that more games should try.

I rate the Sound an 8/10.


Graphics: This is a very easy game to run and you don't need a super PC to run it. The CGs are also great and honestly the Live2D used for the characters is super great. However, it might seem that their head do make some funny movements but overall it's great.

I rate the graphics an 8/10.


Characters: Honestly, this is what makes this game what it is. The characters in this game though goofy at times and making some cringe jokes are very well written and even the NPC's feel crafted with a notion of care so for this I gotta give some kuddos.

I rate the characters a 9/10


Finally. I have to mention this but. If you really want to enjoy the full experience of the game, you need to play it with the 18+patch as without it there is so much cut content such as entire dialogues, some scenes, some Sprites not working at all and it just makes the flow of the game feel very off. So, please do download the patch which by the way is free on the publisher's website.

Overall, I rate this game a 85/100 (8.5/10).

It's not the best visual novel per se but when it comes to its genre of VN, that is Romance, it's really a good read.
