Can't recommend this game enough. It's short but packed to the brim with stuff to do and left me super excited to replay it and see if I can beat it even faster next time. 5/5, no notes, I need more Orbo in my life.

I love this game more than I love my own children, and I love my children.

It's Doom. Are you serious? You needed a review to decide if you wanted to play DOOM!?
What, are you worried the port is broken? It's great. It's Doom. Doom is great. Play Doom.
How have you not played Doom?

Binding of Isaac at its core was a game that begged you to play it over and over again, to see what new items you may get or what new room setups you may find, what unique combinations of items could create this perfect scenario that you never imagined could happen and that you could never replicate if you spent the rest of your life trying. Rebirth took that game, made it run at a solid 60 FPS, enhanced the visuals tremendously and fixed most overwrites on items creating a unique synergy between upgrades that previously would contradict each other.
You will sink hours into this game and it will still feel as fresh and 40 hours in it will still feel as fresh and exciting as the first moment.

An incredibly expansive RPG both in the scope of its world and the depth of your interactivity therein. The game respects you enough to let you do what you want, consequences be damned, and is large enough to facilitate emergent gameplay situations that craft unique experiences not just for each player but for each subsiquent playthrough.
WIthout mods the actual combat can be described as disconnected. I'd recommend Project Nevada. Without Proj. Nev. the iron-sights shooting doesn't feel effective, headshots aren't normally instant kills like you'd think they'd be, and V.A.T.S is both way too effective and way too boring all at the same time. While I played through the game without mods and had a blast, I'm playing now with combat enhancement mods that make the game way more fun.
If you're trying to decide between Fallout 3 or New Vegas, go with New Vegas. I've dumped hours into both and frankly I can remember every inch of New Vegas and I'm hard pressed to remember much about Fallout 3 past Megaton and Liberty Prime. Fallout 3 DOES have the better DLC of the two however. When it comes to the New Vegas DLC i'd readup on it and see if it sounds interesting. It's not like the base game doesn't have tons of missions you don't have to pay extra money for.

I really, really enjoyed this game. Way more than I expected too.
It's got a very well set noir-y atmosphere that heavily contradicts with the main characters more-or-less frivolous/whimsical attitude both in game and in dialogue. The game features a well-written story that removes itself from simple binary notions of good and evil and makes you make hard decisions that often leave you feeling like neither one was a good choice but knowing that you HAD to pick one lessens the impact. The story is very much themed around being in a position you don't want to be in and having to do things you don't want to do to get out of it. This is reflected in both the narrative dialogue-segments AND in the gameplay, where you are constantly making risky decisions and choosing between what appears to be the less dangerous of two fatal choices.
The gameplay struck me was "What Watch_Dogs wanted to be" in terms of the hacking mechanic unlocked a few levels in. You can rewire electronics in any room so that flicking a light switch in one room will open a door on another floor, and any combination therein. The satisfaction of creating a rube-goldberg chain reaction to trick the guards into running around while you sneakily drop in and out without being seen is beyond rewarding. You'll want to keep playing the levels again, and again, and again. It helps when the clients are able to give you certain optional objectives that effect your end rank (and I think your pay but I'm not certain), and so the game finds a way to keep itself fresh without actually chaining you to it's idea of freshness. This client wants you to leave nobody alive, so if you've been playing super stealthily this is a nice change of pace, BUT nothing is FORCING you to play the game like this. It's merely a suggestion from the employer that could lead to better review.

This games length isn't incredible BUT it will leave you wanting more which is where the fan community and level design kit come in handy as people on the steam workshop are keeping this game alive with new levels on a daily basis.
Overall I'd say this game is definitely worth checking out. Maybe wait until it's on sale if you don't like the idea of a 3 hour campaign but I think it's important to emphasize the replayability of not just the campaign but the game in general with it's level design kit.

This game gets a strong recommendation from me.

Absolutely charming game with a minimalist aesthetic and a native american "Use every piece of the animal" mentality in it's development. The game explores every aspect of it's key gameplay components introduced and the game is incredible challenge is complemented with a respawn system that lets you know it's OK to mess up and that ultimately this game wants to be completed. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys simple platformers that are easy to play and difficult to master.

Highly recommended. It's free so you literally have nothing to lose.
It's a simplistic adventure-platformer in the metroidvania style but with a neat twist; you cannot attack. Not that there is much to be attacked in the game but the only thing you DO in the game is interact with your environment. Whether you're dodging snakes, avoiding spikes or leaping over water you never engage in any combat. So how is it Metroidvania-y if there is no theme of self-improvement? Well, everything you get changes the way you can interact with the game. Two power-ups unlock blocks a-la color switches in Super Mario World, and the other two are a double jump and a Mega Max X-esque Wall Jump ability.
The game is a great idea that unfortunately is over too quickly with an ending challenge that may be too esoteric for some. So while the destination may be a bit of a disappointment and you DO get there too quickly, it will cost you NOTHING to make the trip and it's one you'll definitely enjoy.
BTW: Definitely mess around with the settings. I don't care for the faux-monitor and I enjoyed the 16-bit colored version of the game over the blue/purple version of the game.
