Review after finishing the campaign and doing some endgame farming:

One liner if that's all you want, "The First Descendant is like playing Destiny 2 with 10 characters instead of 3 and 100 storage slot instead of the 300 in the vault with warframe modding system."

Copies destiny and warframe mashing them together but overall its a pretty mess. I will just use mainly warframe names for things in this.

The game is made in unreal and if you only care about graphics may be enough for you. Graphics are most likely the least important thing to me.

You craft items in this game much like warframe but you have an npc instead of a foundry. You can only have 5 items crafting at a time, which is alittle sad.

The grind for energy activators(potatos) and crystallization catalysts(formas) are extremely long tedious farm. You get some for free from quests but you most likely wont be farming these until after you finish the story. You can buy potatos for $25 and formas for $5, have fun. These are rough prices because everything in the shop costs slightly off what this making you up buy shop coins. Potato blueprints are a 3% drop chance, taking you on average 33 relics to get one. Forma blueprints are a 15% drop chance from relics, so not as bad.

The descendants(warframes) are ok, prob some bad ones and prob some OP ones. Ultimates are basically prime versions. It's weird to go around collecting suit parts and dna to clone these people??? Must be a Korean thing.

The world is pretty bare, its made up of areas that are all generic and could be anywhere with asset flip bases placed around. You got urban map, jungly map, desert map, snowy area map, mountians map, and you get the idea all very generic.

Missions can be a few types such as but not all, kill all enemies, guard the thing, pick up and dunk things, stand in area, guard moving robot, and kill bad guys in circle. Missions can also be a composite of other types. You can farm items in these missions but usually not the games relics.

The games relics are called Amorphous Meterial Pattern, and can be farmed from Zone Recon Missions(little forts) that take 5 minutes to respawn, Duties of the descendant(dungeons or strikes ala destiny), and endless mission types. They usually have a drop chance of 20% unless you do dungeons for a 100% drop chance or hardmode dungeons that can give you multiple relics.

Void missions are for a resource to help open some relics. These require your to have in your party atleast one person playing the element of the void mission to attack the mission target but if you dont have friends or one of each element type, there are starter void missions for every starting character that drop all of the materials.

To open the relics you then have to do boss fights or open a void reactor using resources from void missions. The drop rates are ok I guess, You can radiant your relics like in warframe but the drop chances for the items are so low, you are looking at around a 0.4% drop chance.

The battlepass is pretty bad, if your on the free track prepare to get nothing but reminders every so often that you haven't bought the battlepass when they have your collect your welfare awards. To upgrade a reactor in game it costs 5 of and item for the first level and 10 for the second. The battlepass gave me one of them, so at most it technically just filled up my inventory with a worthless item.

8/4/2024 Review update:

Farmed all ultimate frames, have limitless formas, and potatos. There is no endgame in this game. Normies will get burned out after they grind and find out that the only thing they can do is the same spots but now with less reward as they master weapons and frames. I don't see this game lasting long. Will do another update before the pre-season ends, I should have every item mastered and be a the mastery cap by then.

8/26/2024 - Pre-season over eve of season 1:

Maxed everything and have all mastery except all the missions, prob wont do those unless I need too. Forma'd up every ultimate descendant and can play them all. And because I said I would list reasons people will quit this game I will follow through:

1. There is no endgame: people think there is an endgame but there really isn't, people will not be doing bosses as endgame over and over because they are boring. Your other options are running around in circles for hours killing the same bad guys you kill instantly with no threat of dying.
2. People will not want to farm endlessly: people will quit because the entire game is farming pointlessly. This just isn't for some people.
3. The world of the first descendant is dead and empty: There is nothing to the world, I don't even know if it's Earth and I don't care. Every location is generic location and areas are tiny, only allowing 4 people in an area at a time. The world is just too tiny and people wont be able to just wander around and pretend they live in it.
4. This is a Korean MMO: Your voice is extremely limited if your not some youtuber and they don't read the steam forums. You are basically as voiceless as with any other game but the developer might not even understand your language, good luck.

Will try out the season but it looks like it is only solo content for the first month, and very little at that. I may or may not update the review again as Warframe is just better.
