My review only focuses on the multiplayer.

Since I am constantly looking for a Banished replacement, Northgard convinced me from the first impression. The mix of Vikings, the analogy to Settlers and real-time strategy offers a wide range of game content and replay value at first glance. The fact of real-time multiplayer persuaded me and some friends to buy 😊
The game mechanics are designed to be very simple and those who have experience with Stellaris or Banished should be able to master them in a few hours of play. On newcomers to the industry will get their money's worth here. Depending on the play style, you can find your starting role with a focus on combat, economy or logistics. The gameplay is based on the well-tried building style with emphasis on the chosen type of victory. Whether victory by dominance or trade victory, everyone should choose their preferred strategy according to their chosen nation.

If you want to learn more about the content you should invest half an hour in a quick LetzPlay from this point on.

I find Northgard as a game for in between with a multiplayer playtime of about 1-4 hours/round (Depending on the number of players here 6-8) a good solution. It offers content besides a comfortable stream or if you want to get away from other games. However, if you are looking for a more complex game mechanic, you won't find it here and prefer Northgard to a Paradox Interactive game. It is still a long way from mature multiplayer and content possibilities, even as an Early Access. Starting with the choice of map or the limited possibility to vary your teams (Age of Empires), Northgard more or less sets the game path. The balancing of the main game is relatively balanced, but the DLCs overrun this principle a bit. Therefore, the focus of development should be on expanding the existing content, not expanding it with paid DLCs.

Price-wise, the 28€ is set too high for me. In the Sale for just under 14€ but a considerable purchase option.
