23 hours so far in two days. I'm hooked. So far it's a big world, lots of things to unlock and expand your base with, a good selection of creatures to capture and put to work, and a generally appealing core combat and capturing loop that stays fast paced and addictive.

It's an obvious mashup of various games. Already plenty of peiple have brought up Ark/Rust, Breath of the Wild, Pokemon and many more. But the fact the game runs pretty smoothly, has a relatively muted price for the current content, and doesn't currently have massive DLC and expansion pack plans, I'm excited for its future.

I'm tentative with my recommendation due to the history of the developers. But if they keep microtransactions, crypto and NFTs out of this, and just expand the core game, it could be something very special.

This was a far better game than it had any right to be, considering it's based on a 36 year old franchise whose relevancy vanished about 30 years ago. The shooting feels decent, perhaps a little lackluster in some of the shooter-side feel but plenty explosive and gory on the target side, perfectly suited to the robotic protagonist blasting away criminals in the most violent of ways possible.

It feels like this game was supposed to be far bigger in scope at one point, with things like the upgrade system including buffs to speech options, and the weird 'exit' road to the city that never actually gets used. Still had a hell of a lot of fun with this though!

Absolutely cracking little game, in the vain of Vampire Survivors (I guess VS-like is basically officially a thing!) with a range of auto-firing weaponry, blasting away at hoards of spawning blobs. Tank-like controls threw me initially, but they were quick to get used to.

PROS
- Very easy to get into gameplay, with a lot of potential nuance in how you build your little centipede with different Warriors, Shooters, Enchanters and Supports.
- A decent variety of weaponry and buffs, each with an 'evolved' version when levelled up enough.
- The build mechanics of your centipede are particularly interesting, stitching your creature together in a grid, and it's visually clear on which buffs affect weapons.
- Choices matter just enough with the likes of positioning where you can't sell units that would leave others free-floating off your head, but with a simple resell and restock option to craft your desired build with a little bit of luck.
- That adorable little smile permanently in the centre of your arsenal.

CONS
- It perhaps falls into the trap a lot of roguelites do where the beginning is rather slow, and initial upgrades feel marginal until you're able to grab the item that ties your build together.
- Power scaling in later levels feels rather skewed in the player's favour. I had very little trouble getting to the end after reaching around wave 10, where I was utterly invincible to enemy attacks.
- The evolved versions of many weapons feel a little uninspired, with at least three offering only +50% critical damage at level 5.
- Enemy variety leaves a little to be desired, especially as later waves often die so quickly due to how bonkers builds can get deeper in.

If there are any future updates, I would hope to see a little more love given to the enemy variety and maybe some balance tweaking. In particular the Elite unit could do with some resistance to the Bleeding enchantment, as it makes the core obstacle of the 5th rounds utterly useless.

But for such a short and simple game, with that rock-bottom price, I certainly got my fun out of this one!

Fine enough port, cheap, great games, if you like shooters there's no reason to leave this one.

The game is great. A perfect example of VR gameplay that's intuitive and simple enough for anyone to get into. However, early access, and DLC...

While I understand that music is expensive to license, I cannot stand behind any paid DLC for early access games. Either go out of early access and release your DLC, or stay in early access and don't. Charging extra for content before the supposedly in development game is complete is crap, especially when the cost of that package is nearly the same cost as the base game.

It was bad when Ark Survival did it, and it's bad that you've done it.

Take Two put out a cease and desist to get a long running mod shut down. Do not support this practise, it's disgusting. Modding makes games that would barely be touched for a month into games people will play for years to come. I don't even know what they were thinking would happen.

And don't blindly accept any apologies they might give. Acknowledge them if they revert this thing, but don't just immediately jump on the "TAKE TWO IS AMAZING THEY STOPPED CEASING AND DESISTING A MOD BEST PUBLISHER". They will never deserve that.
