I purchased this little gem during the recent Steam Summer Sale, not really expecting much. I definitely got a pleasant surprise!

This game tells a detailed story about Edith Finch and her eccentric family. Even though the gameplay isn't super long, there's plenty to keep you interested; the music, the graphics, the vast attention to detail that these developers provide, as well as the overall creepy feel to it all.

As macabre and crazy as it sounds, I found myself getting excited and looking forward to each individual story of a family member. I kept wondering what kind of weird circumstance was going to eventually lead to their demise. There was an absolute sense of sadness throughout the entire game, but each story was so encompasing, I had to know more! And when it was finally all said and done, I was disappointed that it didn't keep going. I felt like a deflated balloon, but I can easily say it was worth it!

Now that the game is finished and I have a better understanding of Edith's family tree, I'd like to experience it again. It would almost be like visiting an old friend. I keep thinking about that house and how it felt warm and inviting even though it was a little dark and foreboding at the same time. And I've never played a game that had so many different themes all packed into one huge story. I feel like I probably missed some aspects of that house and all it's little secret passageways. I'm dying to explore it again.

You should get a glass of wine (if you're of age!), get relaxed and experience it for yourself. You'll know what I mean.
