This game is basically a tutorial on how to be a career politician that can get away with literally any crime.

Where do I start? This simulator is complete garbage. Don't waste your money on this. FSX is far superior to whatever this is supposed to be.

Don't waste your time with this mod. The story line is completely botched with a cop-out ending, the level design of half the puzzles make no sense from an in-universe perspective (mostly as the fizzlers going through the walls), and the workshop has no redeeming qualities.

And just to rub salt into the wound, many of the textures aren't even aligned correctly.

This mod is 100% execution-based puzzles using energy pellets, because apparently, that's the only thing that the developers know how to make. At least that's what it is as far as I can tell, because I'm not playing this anymore. Needs more variety in terms of the types of puzzles. And execution-based puzzles are inherently bad, especially since most of the puzzles in this mod (that I have completed) have you racing the energy pellet.

I'll start with the good news first: Most of the game mechanics work as intended. However, if you crash against the wrong object, you might spawn inside it (eg: one of the asteroids in the "Vengeance" event, which is difficult to avoid).

Now for the bad news: Prepare for lots of crashes an a completely bugged-out user interface. Textures randomly disappear, UI elements randomly turn random, solid colors, the post-race lap may be skipped altogether (foreshadowing a game crash), and when the game does crash (and it will crash), all of your progress in that race is lost. If you try to use a controller, good luck. Trying to assign axis to a controller may cause the rest of the UI to become unresponsive to mouse and keyboard button presses until you restart the game or find some work-around by chance. In fact, some times, merely moving an axis on a controller may result in keyboard and mouse buttons becoming unresponsive.

I've had this game since before Steam even existed and it is by far my favorite game in the series. It features complex game mechanics, has very few bugs, and lots of challenging scenarios. Also, I've heard that this game was written entirely in assembly, which makes it all that more impressive. Be warned however that little to no attempt has been made to improve compatibility with modern hardware or Windows editions. So you may come across some issues, such as everything outside the window becoming unresponsive until you pull up the task manager.

This is not a simulator. It's just an arcade game with a premium price tag and disingenuous marketing tactics. Everything about the marketing is psychological manipulation. What you get for the price tag is a gated community to a product that has buggy physics and sub-par simulation features. Also, this game is essentially just a very expensive NR2003 mod.

You can't even run private testing or offline races without an active subscription. And you can forget editing or viewing your profile, or viewing the profiles of other drivers, or even watching the races outside of Twitch or YouTube. Even the DLC that you purchase is locked-away when your subscription expires. This game is rightfully called "iRenting". Just about any other simulator is better than this game on this point alone.

The premium price tag coupled with the fact that the game exists as a gated community and the marketing of the game as the "most authentic racing simulation" has only harmed the sim racing community to the point of creating a superiority complex among iRacing members about the game and themselves. It even makes people delusional. Case in point: Any sim racing setup that is more expensive than a real race car.

The safety rating system (which can be easily manipulated through offline time trials) will award incident points for all drivers involved in a crash without assigning fault. Then, if a driver gets too many points even through no fault of his own, that driver either gets a penalty or kicked out of the race as if to assign all the blame for all the incident points on said driver.

The most egregious of the sub-par simulation features is the ghosting of cars when on pit road (generally limited to cars going through pit stalls). This is simply inexcusable for a game that markets itself as "the most realistic racing simulation". Other sub-par features include a lack of garage repair, not starting in the garage in situations where that would make sense, and the need to use an external program to load fully-customized paint schemes.

For the buggy physics, all you need to do is watch an iRacing crash-compilation video. The collision response frequently overreacts to crashes in a way that anyone can see is unrealistic. The new damage model doesn't fix this issue. It just adds new collision responses that are obviously unrealistic.

EDIT: Here's another reason to not use iRacing. They crush anyone who dares to make NR2003 mods that can compete with their own. This game is a glorified NR2003 mod.

For a car racing game, it sure doesn't have that much support for analog inputs. First off, there's no way to separate the accelerator from the brake. If you assign an axis to the accelerator, then the brake takes up the other half of that same axis, making it impossible to coast when using a wheel. This also doubles the throttle sensitivity. In addition, there is zero force feedback in this game (not even a centering spring) and no way to adjust the car's steering ratio (amount of steering input vs amount that the front wheels steer).

Best roller coaster simulator I've ever used! There is no park management here. The purpose of this game is to let you design roller coasters without limits. It will take many hours for you to design a high-quality roller coaster, but riding your creation after many hours of designing, testing, and tweaking is a very rewarding experience.

Achievement spam to no end! That's the main issue I have with this game. The achievements are absolutely worthless and there are so many of them unlocked that they won't stop popping up even after you finish all the levels. The other issue is that the in-game audio and in-game music are controlled with the same slider. They should be separate sliders.

The game could use a few improvements on the racing side like the position you finished each level on instead of a blanket "You Win" statement for finishing the course and perhaps more tracks with tighter turns and/or a drafting model. But the game is enjoyable simply for the various little surprises that happen during the course of the races. I would have given it a thumbs up if it weren't for the achievement spam. Seriously, the achievement system in this game needs to be scrapped and rebuilt from scratch with useful achievements.
