There are some people who may be confused from reading other reviews so let be clarify. This is a dungeon crawler game. Not an adventure game. Many people seem to be under the impression that this game is an adventure game of some sort then complain about the lack of enemies.

First off, this is one of the best places to get started for the dungeon crawler genre. The gameplay is simple enough for someone to get far on their first couple of runs, but there's also a level of complexity in creating the perfect build. There's a LOT of items and arcana (spells/magic) with every single item doing something unique and each arcana being usable in different builds. The enemies have well choreographed movements to the point where everything can be dodged. The combat relies on creating a build as you play, picking up different arcana and items, and performing combos on enemies. Although enemy attacks are choreographed, they get faster the deeper into the trials you get, so you'll need to rely on reactions more. One of the places this game really shines is the boss fights. None of them feel unfair but each pose a challenge to the point where, if you get beaten you want to play again rather than rage quit. Devs are constantly rolling out updates and because of the diversity of spells the game itself always feels fresh.

And when you're done with exploring everything in single player, there are options for playing in co-op, and versus. Something about beating the ever living hell out of your friends with magic will never not be satisfying. And with the game play being easy to understand people will generally be able to pick up the game play quickly
