If you were a fan of Dragon Quest VIII, look no further than XI, as this game feels very much like a spiritual successor to it. With enjoyable characters, a strong party dynamic, and a metric-ton of content, I would strongly recommend this game to both veterans and newcomers of the series alike.

In my eyes, the only "negatives" of this game that I can think of are more akin to "wishes". The main one being (aside from one related to the story, which is obviously a spoiler) that I wish the Steam version of the game had the same bonus features as the Switch version. If you don't have a Switch (like me), definitely don't feel bad about getting it here. You'll be able to enjoy the highest graphical fidelity the game has to offer, fast load times, and some mods (though I'm not very familiar with that scene for this game).

I eagerly await the next entry in the series!

You know, Awesomenauts is a great game. Quite frankly, I'm baffled as to why this once thriving community has deteriorated into the rank cesspool of garbage it is today.

From the excellently-sculpted 3D environments to the delicate physics they implemented into every interaction one's character has with their surroundings, the craftsmanship of the developers is apparent.

As a former Master League Zerg Starcraft 2 player in Wings of Liberty, I identified most with that French Chameleon character. I felt as if all 200 of my APM was being perfectly utilized by this masterpiece of a game. My twitch-reflexes from sniping in CS:GO also came into great use via my tounge move. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that cute bug eating thing most chameleons do in the youtube videos and I certainly hope Bungie implements this in the near future. My friends who have played this game (who I am ashamed to admit are part of the "slag" community) were part of the APL or Awesomenauts Pro League Qualifiers. A truly amazing accomplishment considering any team could sign up for it. Judging by the people in said qualifiers, I can conclude that the community consists of British children with social anxiety. It beats the League of Legends community by a mile.

Alas, throughout writing this essay on this marvelous game, I've discovered the answer to my own question of what has causing the downfall of it. There are too many casuals. My esteemed friend "JohnBrownPancakes" can attest to this in his doctoral thesis on the matter. Unfortunately, due to me working at IGN I must make my review for the good of the masses.

Awesomenauts - 1.78 / 10, Too Much Water.
