Wow! What a trip that was... It took me back to the most prodigious days of my childhood. While we tend to forget about our harmonious youngster days and create an empty space in our uninhabited hearts devoid of love and care, we shall still see ourselves in the mirror. It's for you to decide if you see a monster directed by evil and hate or a warmhearted, beaming person. Playing this game assuredly helps us understand more about the psyche and core, fundamental motivators that push us in life towards certain decisions. "Veritas lux mea" - there's no such thing as individual truth. It may differ for individuals to obtain and concede knowledge, but a fact is a fact; therefore, we'll pour it through our bias filter, but it won't change the matter of verity.

... OK, I might have gotten too carried away... Anyway... That's awkward. Let's go back to the beginning.

"The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." God then called the man Adam and later created Eve from Adam's rib. Some believe we evolved from apelike ancestors. What is true? As much as I'd like to lean toward one of the options I mentioned, I'm not here to show my world view nor change/strengthen someone's outlook.

Right. The game. Frankly, I would much appreciate it if there was some sort of star rating, but as it is, I'll just give it a positive review. The story is nothing beyond this world, a bunch of cliches sprinkled with generic.

Reluctance - to friendship. With a twist at the end that you might predict because it was done a bunch of times before. There are only 2 endings which just change 5 minutes of the last scene depending on what you chose. The Leo and Vincent way is a nice addon, but it doesn't affect the gameplay whatsoever; it's linear and always leads to the same situation independently of the action you took. Oh, and I cannot shake that feeling that both of them have a child just for us to sympathize with them more and to feel a heavier burden at the end. For the men of culture that hoped [like me] for them to become aware of themselves and their gayness, that they'll end up together bearing a little homosexual fellow to the world - you will only end up miserable.

Gameplay-wise, it's not bad nor good. I would say slightly above mediocre. For a plus, there is quite a lot of stuff you can interact with, and it might trigger some event or a secret. For a more immersive experience , they decorated it with quick-time events - which are VERY easy to do, so you don't have to worry about it at all. Graphics are just okayish, nothing to brag about; stylized for real life. There is a scene when you can see his schlongus, unfortunately not in his entire prime, but as a flappy, gummy, stretchy, sad foreskin.

Bugs, bugs, bugs; the thing that annoyed me the most. It's not like it's just unpolished texture or bugged visuals. There was a time when we had to restart almost at every mission because it prevented us from completing the task. Once with the dogs, once with the car, even the bridge was bugged, so I ended up seeing the stars up close, and yeah, I had to load the checkpoint.

"A Way Out" can be 100% completed in around 10 hours. My review seems mostly negative from what I've seen, but we really did have fun, especially for a discounted price. So to sum it up - if you have a gay friend like me, I think it'll turn into quite an enjoyable experience with decent narrative, pleasant-to-hear voice acting, and satisfying gameplay.
