I really get lost in this game. Can feel a little slow at times but that's what I like about it. Take over three towns, lose two, rinse and repeat. Polished UI, easy to navigate. No crashes, very smooth. A really nice total war experience, would have liked more mods and more dynasty / family tree customization, diplomacy feels very predictable. Combat and controls are smooth. Overall, I would say 8-10. Fun.

I have played Rimworld, Prison architect, I would consider these in a very similar style of play. So far I prefer going medieval. I look forward to getting many more hours in with this game.

Very cool game, awesome design elements, relatively involved editor with tons of potential once you get a hang of it. Pretty fun scenarios.

Workshop is a great idea.

MULTIPLAYER! please bring a multiplayer arena so I can battle and test my tanks against my friends.

I have no regrets with purchasing this game worth it for 20-30.

I would really like more engine options and customization in that regard.

Time. Time changes all things. Often great gems of the past are covered by the sands of time much like ancient artifacts. Age of Empires II is a game that has stared father time in the face and with the introduction of the revamped definitive edition reached back and pimp slapped him in the face.

AOE II has sold over 25 million units (not including the over 5 million pirated copies) netting well over 1 billion dollars since its inception on September 30th 1999. Over 30 million people cant be wrong; must be something here.

This new rendition is cross platform compatible with Xbox, can handle resolutions up to 4K, has updated audio and overhauled graphics / animations, the developers really wanted to get it right and have reached out to many prominent figures in the gaming community and asked. "what do you want us to put in this game, what could be better". They listened and followed through. Kudos to Tantalus Media, Forgotten Empires and Wicked Witch developers that co produced the game.

AOE II is in my opinion the best RTS game on the market. It does not require high end pc to run, in fact hook a potato up to a monitor and you can probably play aoe on it. It is easy enough for a beginner to pick up and have a blast but takes months, days, years to master. It has the right amount of city building to military building. Keeps your attention. Many different civilizations to choose from each having a bonus / perks that makes them excel a little bit more in one area then another which keeps it interesting.

Unlike AOE III that was over simplified and over designed (still a good play though); AOE II has remained true to what I believe a good RTS should be.

This game has seen quite the resurgence in the last few years. You can view many games on YouTube if you would like to see what its all about. I would recommend 'low ELO legends' by T90. Very entertaining and might give you some good pointers.

Give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

Sea of Thieves,

The good
The game has beautiful graphics in terms of the water. Sunsets are rather prety, lots of time sailing, you can be plundered by other players, this was not a huge issue for me and the game is pretty fun with others.

The bad
For me the fact that all upgrades are simply cosmetic and there is really no system of improvement for characters the game felt very empty to me. Could use a leveling system for the characters, maybe a skill tree.

Didn't put much time into it but i'm already bored with it. Its fun and its pretty well made so I wont give it a thumbs down and would still encourage others to try it if they wish but for me it was hollow and unsatisfying. A bit repetitive as well. .. go to this island, collect chest, turn in .. go to this area, kill ghost ships, collect chest, turn in. You get the picture?

This game is great. I started playing Age of Empires back when the original came out. AOE, AOE: The Rise of rome, AOE II than AOE III.

Age Of Empires II is the best game in the franchise. So simple anyone can play yet very complex to master. This game is fun online or single player against the AI. Many different civilization choices with different strategies; what works against one opponent may not be good against another.

Fantastic game that everyone should try.

Having said that you would be better off to get the Age of Empires II Definitive Edition as it is the newer release which is improved upon and has a larger active online player base.

If you are on the fence I would watch content on you tube by T90Official, especially 'low ELO legends' for some game play tips, spirit of law is also another good choice for learning game mechanics.

Let me be clear. This developer is active. I believe this will trump any triple A title within a few months.

The graphics... !!! woooooowwww.... I have a 1080 with overclocked 7 series pentium and it cant take it. Some optimization would be nice but I also feel if I had another 1080 I might see Oklahoma from michigan; it truly is the most beautiful horizon I have ever seen in a game. Graphics are great... FYI.. turn down grass, better frame rate and easire to get resours's but not nearly as pretty.

This game is fantasticly imperfect; and improving.

I want to love it so much. I haven't been able to get into anything in a long time. This did it. The points progression and leveling system is top notch. The ease to get into it kept me engaged but also broke me. Within 8 hours you can have a ranch and everything you need. Again though.. the leveling, item gathering is perfect.. So ... how can you have both worlds... If I had to choose one.. they did it right. Resourse progression.

Ill be honest... it might not be the game.. it could be a lack of people. It is alpha so I suppose this might change? I see it all tooo often alpha's go out and that becomes the game.

I would have loved more player interaction.. the addition of the sherrif in the new patch sounds good but... lets cut servers down and promote populated servers with more interaction.
