Ive been a fan of destiny since Rise of Iron and playing it since middle school. I also personally this whole time have really hated the whole dead game and hateful narrative by the community and have always chosen to stay more positive on the game.

HOWEVER tell me why everything ive loved about the game has been stripped away, all the aspects that made the game unique and invested me are gone. In their place is a pointless grind with absolutely no wonder or reason beside big number go bigger.

Destiny 2's weapons after Edge of Fates whole power and gear reworks feel completely meaningless, the one thing destiny 2 had left was letting the guardian be an extremely overpowered GODSLAYER (pantheon was AMAZING) and now my gameplay is super drawn out and i might as well be poking the enemies with the amount of damage my weapons do. Also the content is so lacking that I dont care to even look at the new weapons because i probably either have something exactly like it, or if i dont i wont care anyway because theres no actual endgame or FUN content worth getting it to use in

I just did one of the activies from Ash and Iron, the Fallen Bunker activity.
It SUCKED, there was absolutely NOTHING going on. It was just 35 minutes of clicking on enemies waiting for a progress bar to fill, occasionally swapping setdressing as you hold interact to get warped to another area in the plaguelands. Its not even the cool areas either like Archons Forge or like some of the fight arenas from the Rise of Iron campaign, its just the random traversal sections that you would ride your sparrow across in D1 to get to the other actually intersting areas.

The fact that its not even a patrol space is SUCH a letdown too, why cant that activity even let you just walk yourself to the next area, even the dreadnaught's Nether activty had that and was sort of a patrol space with the fact you could load in and just wander around if you wanted to.

The game is such a hollow shell of even just what it was in Final Shape. They have stripped it down into a state where nothing matters. The portal streamlines doing nothing of value with your time. Raids dont matter. I keep forgetting it can get worse so id like to come back and read this in a year to see what happens if the game exists then.

Even if we get a Destiny 3 which we should have had based on how bungie keeps trying to wipe our progress away, I dont feel like Destiny has much Destiny left in it to pick up from the remains. They did away with the fallen and cabal though keep bringing back Red Legion because they cant be bothered to change the model and instead just throw in a line about "oh the red legion are still around because its a splinter faction who didnt want to stop/alternate timeline red legion/shadow legion"

Like bungie just REFUSES to innovate, they have ONE job and thats to make the game interesting. They didnt want overdelivery in the past, and they dont even underdeliver anymore. They refuse to even reprise the ONE raid the community has been screaming about for YEARS its actually not funny anymore

If they just released the plaguelands as it was, gave missions about the iron lords and that sort of thing, instead of twisting Ash and Iron into being ANOTHER Maya Sunderesh Conducts the Vex story, they could have given us what any reasonable player expected and was hoping for.

most of the bungie employees that made destiny what it was are gone, and the ones that are still around from when it was such a good game unfortunately either have no control over what they do and are complacent, or are somehow actively making it worse

This has been a massive rant and a lot of rambling but unless it somehow miraculously turns around i dont see myself playing any more of the game or bothering to even look at Renegades

Go play Destiny 1 you wont regret it, but Destiny 2 doesnt even have its base game

The level of freedom in the exploration obviously knows no bounds with there being 4.3 TRILLION star systems. And its super fun to grow your wealth, buy a new ship, and upgrade it while buying up anything you like.

My only issue is that surviving on a planet can be entirely RNG based on if you manage to land near enough sodium and oxygen for your suit systems. But thats only an issue because im playing in permadeath.

The fact they just added in FULLY customizable ships with interiors that you can pilot with your friends, this game just keeps getting better and better.

Good Game, all the new monsters have amazing unique designs and each their own fun fight. The early game is super easy as someone who has played since Generations but doesn't take the fun away from it. The main issue is that the story is INCREDIBLY in the way. Portions as long as some of my hunts are spent just sitting on the Seikret listening to the characters speak and being told to look around at the graphics. The story is actually interesting for once but as someone who started out with practically no story I just want to hunt the monsters where the game is incredibly good

its really good, well worth the cost (its free) there is actually HUNDREDS of hours of things to do its just a little limited on the player interaction aspect, you cant join a guild, cant add friends (paid players can add you as a friend), cant make a party, cant use the market board. but as of now it gives you base game, heavensward, and stormblood all in their entirety for completely free so its worth giving it a shot because you will fall in love with the game somehow. I didn't even like mmo's and I went in expected to hate it, but started to love it instead.

Funny monsters with surprisingly good designs, as well as fun Legends Arceus-like gameplay but as a survival game
