Overall worth the forty bucks for the dollar to time played ratio if you get it on sale, but be aware of paying a seemingly lazy company.

I've played many MMO's and this one has a lot of potential to be among the better ones, but AGS seems incredibly incompetent. This game is actually great as is with a healthy community but that is steadily declining for many reasons. I came back for the fresh servers and luckily picked a moderately healthy realm. Unfortunately, most other fresh start servers and especially the streamer sponsored return servers are almost completely dead. There isn't much end game content, and 90% of it requires player interaction (it is an MMO right). On a dead server there's no point. AGS officially stated on the forums that they have no plans to remedy the population issues for fresh realms. I'm still playing until the population issue makes it unplayable, which doesn't seem to be long from now. Anyone can make a really fun MMO, but a good MMO requires constant support and upkeep to be worth the time.

Rant aside, the game itself is fun and has many neat concepts. The crafting is really good (albeit tedious) and the world events are neat. It plays well and the combat is pretty smooth for a "newer", non tab target MMO. Before I could try the game in 2021, it had already died from economy breaking dupes and bots. These are supposedly fixed and I haven't been able to notice any blatant bots or cheaters after playing two weeks on a fresh realm. This could be a regular play for me with a few more content updates and ongoing support.
