I need to preface to say this game is 80% a Visual Novel, 20% game. The Tactical RPG gamplay is more or less a palette cleanser in-between throughout the story and dialogues. If you are mainly looking for gameplay, you WILL be disappointed.

Overall as a visual novel itself, the writing and story is a very nice fresh take, yet a good throwback to the original Digimon Adventures anime. If you enjoy the Digimon Anime or a good Digimon Visual Novel, definitely worth a play through. As for the Tactical RPG, just think as Final Fantasy Tactics and thrown in some SMT/Persona mechanics. it's not as in depth overall but a nice incorporation in the VN as a whole.

Pretty short game, but quite an experience. Not too difficult puzzles and great pacing. Not the best graphically impressive game but they really nailed the environment. Highly recommend playing with headphones to appreciate the impressive audio design and sound track.

Overall a fun and short B-grade PS/PS2 era 3D Platformer with great level design and environment. The audio design, VA, and some minor bugs can be rough. Worth picking up during a sale.

Very fun speedrun FPS Platformer. Mechanics and movement physics feels great and very satisfying, with some okay visual novel story thrown in. Worth picking up.

Chill and relaxing game with friends. With a very forgiving and simple, yet very fun survival mechanics. Lots of potential.

Great story, writing, and 80s soundtrack choices. Worth checking out if you enjoy the comic and/or films. Combat is alright and simple, don't expect too much out of it. Overall a very fun game.

As someone who spent hundreds of hours on Left 4 Dead, this is a very refreshing and modern take of the genre. The card deck system is surprisingly deep to experiment and play around with, and makes a big difference on the effectiveness of the gameplay. The roguelite progression really helps keeps the replay value of the levels fresh every time. This game really shines with 4 friends. If you are playing first time, HIGHLY suggest playing through all the Acts in Recruit mode first to earn some cards. When you optimize your card deck, it will be overkill and make Recruit mode easy at first. But will have a big impact on how far you can go on Veteran and Nightmare difficulty.

Will I like B4B if I love Left 4 Dead?
It depends. The card deck system and roguelite approach may not appeal to everyone. If it appeals to you and craving a fresh modern take of the genre, yes give it a try. If you simply want a modern Left 4 Dead, then this game may not be for you.

Will this replace Left 4 Dead 2?
No. Left 4 Dead 2's 10+ years of modding support really kept the game fresh and going today, I highly doubt it will be going to be overtaken by this game. There are still things I missed about Left 4 Dead 2 that makes we want to go back to it at times.

If you want a fresh take of Left 4 Dead, enjoy roguelite (even just a little), the card system, and have 3-4 buddies, it's worth getting. There's some replay value to be had with the corruption card system. If you want simply a modern Left 4 Dead, prepare to be disappointed.

Aside the performance issues, this game is quite a surprise gem of 2021. Gunplay feels tight and very fun to play. They encourages you to experiment, explore, and try out all the gears and upgrades. Play stealth or go loud, your choice and they encourage it. Story and Characters are great, visuals are great.

It does things good and bad, but overall not bad for a studio of ~20 developer's first game. Crafting, Loot, and the map visuals are its strength while the story and quest is where it falters. Combat is smooth but not satisfying, where mostly lacks punch. Worth giving a try if on sale.
