The game is great, but then it doesn't work. It's a tease.

Revisited the game recently and I've been enjoying it. Campaign is good, but tedious. Still rough around the edges but I'd recommend it if you like RTS game campaigns. I really wish they would make the hero missions more interesting, or just cut some of the bloat out of the whole campaign.
There really doesn't need to be a mission where I have to sit around while my soldiers kill 8000 of the slowest zombies as they waddle towards the tower over the course of 30 minutes. Honestly I'm sitting through this mission and I keep adding to this review. Why is this in the campaign? It's my first try on the mission and I've beaten it very easily. But I'm just waiting for the thing to end in the background while I write this.
I don't care if there are 60 hours in your campaign. I want less hours that are engaging. What if I wanted to try this campaign on a higher difficulty? I certainly will be dissuaded knowing this mission is part of it.
I don't know if the developers ever plan on patching this game in the future. But please take out the filler from the campaign.
