It's an honestly lovely game! A nice amount of characters to choose, each being different enough to give a new experience, and lots of fun. And the later stages get interesting too, even.

Here's my review, saying no, but I have to tell you, I don't actually hated it too much. In fact, I enjoyed 4 a lot, without, of course, caring too much about its glaring flaws back then. But let me start with a plus.

The good thing about 4 was the environment, like, my goodness, I feel so refreshed from that eye-burning view of JC3. I hated it, and I collected everything a few days before 4 launched. So much lushness, so much less eyesore, so.. beautiful. Solis is beautiful, and I disagree that it's bad.

Oh, and I am happy I don't die when I hit the ground too hard while gliding. It was.. helpful. But, I have to follow up on this.
And the driving feels.. relatively better. I also enjoyed one of the dlcs, the best one is the Agency one, since not only it helps build on the plot of a sequel, which.. I look forward to, as much as this flopped. Because, I'm gonna be honest, that Hoverboard is crazy fun. Remember the Eden Airship thing where you can activate the Bavarium Wingsuit beneath the water, but the Black Hand booster doesn't do that? Well, guess what, that hoverboard lets you do exactly that. Which means.. you went through 2 "okay" dlcs for the best possible DLC. Aaaand.. actually, I'll give a followup, about why it's a good, and here, the best DLC of three, probably like a ranking. SPOILERS WAAAY BELOW. I'll title it.

But you know what's bad, though? The genius who thought the breakers should be tiny little things that you have to find. Yeah yeah breakers suck, but every time it takes so long before you notice it, and when you do.. it's done. And I just wasted allll that time. I hate it. I do. But not every mission is bad, it's.. just that one. I hate that one the most.
But let's continue with the bad things: The weapons. And I'm not talking about the pistols. I'd be fine with no pistols, I actually was. But.. of course, this was also dumb. But... let's talk about another thing.

The base game was severely lacking of an over-destructive weapon (Not joke weapons, mind you). To those who played 3, tell me, what were your favorite weapons to use when you just.. want to tear down an entire base into ash? Was it the Thunderbird, or the M488, aka A LITERAL BAVARIUM NUKE , or the eDEN spark, the little lightning thing, the one thing that can, quite literally, bring down the final boss' shield in 3? Making the fight rather pathetic?

Yeah, tell me about those, because 4 literally has none of those. There are only two weather weapons, one is the Wind generator while the other is the lightning, and both are so pathetic and useless you're better off using the SMG to kill things faster. Sure the wind cannon is fun but that's it, the other one is straight up pointless. It would be fine if the alt version created more lightning, but no, instead it even has a chance for you to kill yourself. The DLC weapons.. fared better.
And I mean, only two out of three introduced new weapons.

Los Demonios gave you the crossbow, which, was actually pretty OP. The ammo count is literally so high for you to run out a lot of the time, and the overdrawn shot will quite literally kill virtually anyone in a single hit. And the agency one, it's the best one, actually. It introduces SMGs with smart rocket launchers which deal a good chunk of damage, can lock on, and all of that. And the fun shotgun with the built in booster which automatically activates, though, those aren't the interesting ones. The actual interesting one? The mech forcefield-thing has returned, and it's not connected to a mech at all! How fun, now you can throw things like back in 3!

And that's it. I hate it, for that very reason. There was so little creatively-made awesome weapons, but instead, most were mundane, albeit interesting ones, like the mine-laying sniper rifle. Also, Bavarium as a concept is absolutely gone. It's... weird.

Now let's talk about Rico's gadgets, More so, grappling hook and wingsuit. The wingsuit feels more in control, it's fun, and like I said, it doesn't kill you when you hit the ground too hard. Parachute is just.. you know what it does.
The grappling hook also remains fun, as the new mod system is really fantastic! I enjoyed making a system where I can combine some stuff and make it interesting. You miss the explosives? Well, I mean, as much as how fun that was, I really didn't enjoy how much enemy fire I receive when I put that stuff on. And, you can now make a make-shift one, which overclocks the boosters upon 5 seconds, make the retractor go snap, while making the balloons filled with hydrogen. It'll explode and do enough damage. Travelling with it.. is sort of a plus. My only gripe is that, remember what I said about the wingsuit? Well, it kills you if you're retracting while wingsuiting. For.. some odd reasons. I have no idea why too.

And now.. enemies. Look, I gotta be honest, the enemy lineup looked rather.. unique at first. But really, most of them are okay. Cloakers should've appeared more, but they only do in missions and bases. And well, the captains and high priority targets are just the heavies, which aren't that hard to deal with. Oh, and speaking of enemies:

Spoilers starts now.

The enemies.. the boss. Hey, remember Gabriela? Yeah, you thought she was a boss? WELL I WISH. She's a threat that never comes to be, and only goes about how she's just protecting her men at the end of the Illapa fight, making the game... lack a boss battle. Rico says cool line and kills big bad guy, but that's it. She, in fact, does not appear in the game, or make her presence known throughout the entire game, unless it was the prologue, the village part, and the literal ending. In contrast to.. well, Panay and Di Ravello. They have several statues, keep shouting propaganda, Di Ravello, despite his constant underestimation of Rico, was still fun, he was creative, he is, not cunning, but ruthless. It's.. satisfying to watch. And our supposed main villain doesn't even do that. But you know who does? Find out in the DLC section.

First one is Los Demonios. Los Demonios is.. fun. The enemies weren't, the bombing wasn't, but what was is the demons "Bugs" and the little amounts of creativity in going to make the enviroments feel.. infested, destroyed, all of it. It.. was neat. Too bad there's only the crossbow and the secret weapon. This fight, however, introduced something of an actual boss fight. This final boss is a giant eyestalk, with three "lids" closing the center, which, as we know, has to be retracted away. It was rather fun to do that, as it was the first "boss fight". Went down quickly though.

Second is the cars, which, I actually collected each and every single one of them! Unsatisfyingly, they were all good yet also oddly weird. There's one which actually has a shield, which means Bavarium is.. a thing, still, I guess. The shield system is pretty fun. And there's also other attachments. I'd say it's.. okay.

Unlike those 2 on the other hand, 3 is the best, since it introduces a fresh new utility: The Hoverboard. Which, I wish had more support on the main land, as it was really fun to play on the ships, I just wish we could grind on the main island too. But, in short, the Hoverboard gives a fast movement, works similarly to the wingsuit except it's for covering the ground, and you can shoot while using it, and you can also get out of underwater using it.. It also works to stay above water too. Very, very fun.
But the most of all, is that this dlc actually introduces the boss fight, the satisfying boss fight that wasn't in the main game. This time, it pits Rico against his old rival, who has cloaking, can launch drones, and was actually pretty hard for me at first. He was actually a boss! And it was rather satisfying for me.

Tl/dr: JC4 is pretty good environment wise, and it's very fun to explore. Otherwise, it's mostly a downgrade from 3 but minus the eyesore. The few exceptions are the hoverboard and the demons.

I really enjoy fighting as the Motivation machine, Younger Wacky Woohoo Pizza Man and non-swearing Deadweight and Two ladies who exist for pure eye candy. I do however wish that SE really could've came with more levels and such though. Just adding new characters without newer levels is repetitive. And that's a shame.

This game is an amazing free to play that kept me through 2014 to 2016. I'm back at it again, of course, just a not as active as before. This game is awesome, as I love the jumping around, flippty floopity Where are the resources of my property and whatnot.

Look at all these new Tennos, coming to read my review. They try to think it's a helpful review, but they are mere readers. Only I, Hams, know the true power of the game. I died a lot, failed a lot, but through it's grindy-ness, the game called to me. It brought me here and I was reborn. We cannot blame these tennos, they're being led by a false prophet, an imposter who knows not the entirety of the game. Behold the beginners, Come to play and leave this sacred game. Did I not tell of this day? Did I not prophesize this moment? Now, I will help them. Now, I have changed, reborn through the power of the grind. Forever bound to the game. Let it be known, if the new ones want true understanding, they will add me in the game, and wait for the helping hand of my Limbo Prime. It is time. I will teach these new players the redemptive power of my Dragon Nikana. They will learn it's simple truth. The new tennos are lost, and they will resist. But I, Hams, will help these tennos through the game of their own imagination.
