As I am roughly 5 hours into the game. I am starting to feel like this game isn't what I thought it was. There is a sense that all this game has to offer is surface level mechanics. The charge shot is a really cool mechanic on the gun, but past that, the incredible aesthetic and atmosphere, the game truly lacks. I really wanted to like this game, especially coming off of Silent Hill 2 from Bloober. For the "true" horror game fan, I can't recommend this.

First thing that bugged me was that these creatures can't chase you past certain points on the "track". I use the word track sarcastically, because that's what I feels like you are on for most of the game. A sequence of walking, finding a split path, one way leads to the main path but has an obstruction, the second path leads to the solution of said obstruction., which would be the second thing. It was just predictable and felt like filler. Whether it was restoring paths using that time mechanism, or wandering down the second path to find a key, to then be ambushed. It all felt so predictable. I see a lot of complaints about ammo being scarce, which I don't see at all. Unless you're senselessly shooting, or not charging your shots. Are you new to horror games? I will say in this, it just feels again like filler, not really strategic. I love scarcity, but not when it that's the only real component that is used to define the game as "survival horror". It really is just an action game.

I may have had unreasonable expectations coming off Silent Hill 2, What I guess I was hoping for was something like a Silent Hill 2 or a RE2 Remake. The option to play with ink ribbons, using saves strategically adding to the suspense of moving from a known safe area, through a hell hole, to hopefully make it to the next safe area. Or strategically using Scarce ammo to create paths in order to backtrack more efficiently. In depth puzzles, exploration. The sense of relief you get when you survive your way through an area, and finally arrive at the save room.

There has been nothing that Cronos other than aesthetic, and atmosphere, (a cool gun play idea that I felt should have been expanded on more.) That touches the RE2 or Silent Hill 2 remakes. I know that is a tough act to follow, but I feel like the door was open to take some of those ideas and expand on them.

Rather this game just delivers a very basic experience.

As someone of who really enjoys horror games, this ain't it.

I Love Katamari. I still Love Katamari Forever more, but this one scratches the itch.

This game is so red taped with minor crap. I downloaded figuring it would be a fun game to crossplay with my console friends. NOPE, can only play with PC players in ranked. Also, I can't match chat unless my endorsement level is above 2? Why? Why does this game make itself so hard to play. The original Overwatch was unreal, then Trump got elected, and then blizzard neutered this game.

In a world of not so unique games, this game stands tall as a fun unique experience. Everything feels so original, there is no way to hate this game. FEDEX on steroids

This and the RE2 remake is exactly what this franchise needed reinstate itself into the survival horror genre. The series should have never departed from this formula.

Hyper aesthetic walking path sim where you stop every so often to to engage in a pretty fun combat system. Good game? Yes! Great game? No. Definitely a good game to grab for a sale, I wish I waited. I will finish it eventually, but overall it's pretty monotonous.

What an unexpectedly good title. This game for me seemingly came out of nowhere. I got this and Expedition 33 around the same time, and honestly this game has held my attention way more. I wasn't expecting a Harvest Moon/Secret of Mana hybrid. This game really is a pleasant surprise. Given all the content I've seen so far, I can see how people would easily sink 100's of hours into this game. Roughly 8 hours in and I don't feel like I scratched the surface.

Sweet game, dope aesthetic. I'm a sucker for beat games, and this doesn't miss.
