I did not review helldivers2 during the Sony debacle because I knew it would never pull through, however now that it's done and over with, I can wholeheartedly once again recommend this game.

Great game, even greater tunes.

After 100%, I only have a couple critiques. Firstly, I don't think this amount of gameplay is worth $40, the story took me 4 hours, went back to do some sigils at some point, and I would of beat it in one session if it didn't drop once it hit the 15th. I was expecting at least 12 hours of solid story mode, with the replayability of the difficulties and sigils. The ending does hint of a DLC or sequel, I'd assume DLC, so if it's cheap, say half the price, I think we got a solid complete package. (that could be sold as a bundle with special content DEVS GET ON IT).

One of the only problems I have with the game is how weightless The Unknown feels when jumping, dashing, and vulcan boosting. The slightest push by a change in terrian or an enemy projectile/melee will shift your movement completely or halt your momentum for no real reason. It's a real rhythm-killer, which ain't good.

In terms of the actual game, there are some bugs that I've seen.
One of the worst ones is getting stuck on the very edge of the level and sliding off (I also think falling off takes to much health but that's fine).
The Seraph glitches around when it moves and it blinks around if it does that until it reaches it's spot to attack.
Dash not working after dashing either once or twice, perfect, good and miss, doesn't matter the hit.
The hounds shots not hitting? It could just be me honestly, but when I shoot the Judge's aspects head, I have to actually shoot her tiny face or the archs on her head? If there are holes in those spots, they should be much smaller, at least 70/30 hole not 90/10 hole.


OVERALL: We got a pretty good release here. I was super excited for this game, found out about it in June on Twitter. I LOVE the music, it's perfect. If you're wondering if you can listen to the music in game; you can! And it's got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shuffle and loop! 9/10!

Just skip this and go right to DOOM Eternal. This game is objectively bad, Eternal does what it wanted to do way better, and the older doom games fit the style and game play way better. That's the tip of the iceberg.

1. DOOM, the foundation.

2016 DOOM is a basically a re-skin of the old doom games, and they don't hide it. You'll find hidden rooms in "reference" to DOOM, but have you noticed the incredibly stale, closed off environments that are just part of the game? It looks to me they took the design philosophy of DOOM a little to serious. Like classic DOOM you'll be doing some backtracking for secrets and items, sometimes even for progression, in this game it's the same thing, but bigger (so worse). The reason it worked in the old games, Doomguy was fast, the levels we're tightly designed, and coded well too, of course. 2016 has NONE of that. It makes the formula, repetitive, stale, and anger inducing. Do you know how many time I've gotten stuck on slopes and railings? The inclusion of double jump nearly halfway through the game? DOG. The parts that are new they don't capitalize off of, cuz "it's like old doom xd"

2. There's a better game waiting to be played.

Y'all heard of DOOM ETERNAL? It's literally one of my favorite games. It has some problems but none as glaring as 2016. This will be my least touched upon point, you can read my Eternal review for more insight on what I think, TL:DR- ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play ETERNAL.


3. Schizo screams in his room about the devs being stupid (general problems)

There's a lot of bugs in this game. I run into 2 or 3 every level. Simple glitches like getting stuck on rails or getting soft locked (has happened 4 times now) is fine, but when it happens literally every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level it really starts to piss you off. Jumps not being made, ledges not being grabbed, glory kills not going off, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ immediately going to a loading screen when you fall and die, being stuck on moving objects, lack of mobility (ik runes but tell me how far that runes is again...oh wait), bland color palette (browns, reds and blacks mostly). Honestly, these things again, aren't really to bad, it's like a 2% problem, but they literally made the perfect game after this one, so these problems are mega crippling, it's hard to for me to understand some of the choices made, but others are reasonable.


4. But Big Daddy, what was even the point?

Doom is great, I love doom. I'm really disappointed that I don't like this game, I played Eternal first and I'm glad I did, to me this game was just a stepping stone to get where we are now, another foundation for a great line of games coming. It's 2022 now, there's rumors of another DOOM coming, and I can give my thanks to this game for being the first, I can say that much about it.


24 hours of gameplay later review: I would still agree with the core of my arguments as to why this game is "objectively bad". Eternal is just such a massive upgrade to everything 2016 does. By no means is this game BAD, it is what it is. It's 3D DOOM, that's all it needed to be and the game is great because it sticks to that formula.

Probably the best DLC pack besides 4. Flan is super fun to play and really strong. I'd suggest taking her for those harder achievements. 100% worth the price for good characters with fun abilities

With the final DLC of Eternal, TAG2 brings to the table what TAG1 did but better. New enemies, even more traversal, and new beautiful environments.

Why it's good:

1. Now that the enemy roster is complete we have the ability to completely master the combat, if you have not by now, TAG2 will MAKE you. This is great for newer or rusty players to get a good feel for how the combat should flow and how to properly make your fights a gore-fest, and is even better for veteran players such as myself that crave a challenge, personally the addition of the stone imps impress me. I'm unaware of how the DLC'S we're made but I can imagine a survey was conducted on what mods we're being used the most, thus the stone imps we're born for auto shotgun. Killing stone imps are fun as ♥♥♥♥, I don't usually mow down demons with it cuz sticky bomb (lol) but it's great to just bust it out and have a good time.


2. The difficulty in TAG2 is about on par with the first TAG, DO NOT be fooled by other reviews, trust me the only reason they call it harder is the fact that spirits exist in the game and ♥♥♥♥ their ♥♥♥♥ up. If you're a casual player, I'd recommend just the classic hurt me plenty, veterans I recommend obviously nightmare, but I also recommend to take your time and appreciate the art, which brings us too


3. Doom Eternal has always looked great, but man they really pumped up the effort for TAG2's environments, new enemies and lore. Immora is fantastic, the surrounding war setting and the addition of the lore makes you feel like the chosen one, THE slayer. Reclaimed Earth is my least favourite in terms of vistas, but the level design is easily the best. The developers clearly thought so too, because they included two encounters from this level in horde mode. And World Spear, ah World Spear, ♥♥♥♥ it looks good man, that's all I'll say about that. The designs of the new enemies, Blood Makyr, Stone Imps, Cursed Prowler, Armoured Baron, Demon Trooper are all god-tier and are all fun to kill, they enhance the gameplay by forcing you to include the WHOLE weapon wheel instead of only parts, giving you true mastery of the combat.

The lore is great too, the dark lord himself is lacklustre, but I think the whole vision isn't tainted by one thing. It's a great story that satisfied me from the end of TAG1.


What parts are bad?

nah but for real, Dark Lord lets talk about him.
Yes he's a buffed marauder, yes he's easy, yes he's pretty poorly thought out, can I excuse it...well no, it's pretty universally accepted that the dark lord was. . .disappointing. But it did not at all ruin the game for me, the Dark Lord himself is an interesting character and his involvement in the story is fun but again nothing can really excuse it.

I would HIGHLY recommend this DLC as well as the first, don't be scared of the challenge and most importantly have fun.

Good continuation of Eternal, a little short, that's just my thought on the entire game, I want more DOOM. But this DLC offers a greater challenge, more traversal sections, new enemies that are fun to kill. Great continuation on the lore if you're into that sort of thing, it definitely delivers and has a fantastic cliffhanger for TAG2.

9/10 Would rip and tear again
