I have not played much of this modified version of the game however, being some one who has played way to manny hours in the OG version of the game, i feel like this is an over bloated mess. Let me explain.

(TLDR: This build of the game is not terrible but more suited to those who have extensive knowledge of the game already, I Strongly urge anyone interested in this to pick up the original SCP:CB form Undertow Games website, complete that at least once and then come back to this.(PS: turn off mouse smoothing for the love of god))

It is nice to see that SCP:CB has been brought to steam in some capacity, but this is too much. The OG version of the game is simple and basic, and achieves at doing a lot with what little it has, the game has a simple but intuitive progression system that has many ways to complete each goal. Its packed with an intense atmosphere and haunting obstetrical. The game has just enough to keep every play though feeling fresh and engaging with almost limitless repeatability, especially with multiple endings you can achieve with out swarming the player with unnecessary features.

The issue i have with this "release" is that most if not all of what it adds dose not add anything like literally any SCP additions and many more, is just clutter that adds nothing in value to the core game experience but confuse players who have never played the original. They have completely screwed with the early progression forcing you to hunt down very specific rooms in a labyrinth to get what you need, which drags out the early game and makes it a confusing mess that forces players to play slowly. This removes the fun of the old fluid system that allowed experience players to glide through the first third of the game given that you know what your doing.

Not only the above they have committed crimes against the atheistic and feel of the game by adding, random needless colour changes to the UI, adding a Putrid gradient to everything in the logo and launcher, the launcher sucks ass and every thing overlaps and god knows why they felt the need to butcher the main menu screen, and adding random changing random SFX. All of the changes and what they added without care for the games ambience, game feel and progression screams rushed and amertuer.

Final words:

Best shooter I've played since Black-Ops 2, would recommend to players looking for something more chill and different
