The Sinagoga is indeed pretty ancient, the jew community in Florence has roots in Roman times so there are quite a few old buildings of their religion :)
For the ceramics bottegas I unfortunately don't really know that many in Florence, quite a few of the most well known are in the industrial parts outside the city which are quite far away. If you're looking for Terracotta souvernirs though, "Sbigoli Terrecotte" in Via San Egidio near the Duomo has a pretty amazing collection. The big specialty in Florence however is leatherwork and there are tons of great shops all over the center of the city that sell high-quality wallets, belts, jackets and such, but they can be pretty expensive. The "Spezierie Palazzo Vecchio" in Via Vacchereccia near Palazzo Vecchio is also a great place for souvernirs if you're interested in perfumes or other natural products.

Unfortunately yeah, prices for pretty much everything have gone up quite a bit in Florence, probably has something to do with the pretty bad economy Italy is having right now :( But I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself anyway :D
Siena is a beautiful city as well, and especially the countryside surrounding it can be really breathtaking. Definitely hoping you'll come back to Tuscany a third time to visit San Gimignano as well, it's definitely one of my favorite towns in all of Italy.
It's great to hear your opinion on Florence :) It might not be as unique as Venice, as rich in history as Rome or as modern as Milan, but it does have some kind of special feeling to it that is hard to describe.
I don't know if you've already left Siena, but If not I hope you'll have a really great time :D

Let me know if you have any questions or need any directions :) I wish I could personally show you around, but unfortunately lately I have very little time to do anything due to work and family problems :(

For restaurants and food in general there is even more choice, but I'll try to keep it short and suggest some of my favorite places :D "All'Antico Vinaio" is a classic Bar that is great for a snack with local food, especially platters of crostini and affettati, not to mention great panini. Unfortunately it's on the opposite side of the Arno river relative to the "centre" of the city, but if you're headed that way it's definitely worth the stop. Another personal favorite restaurant is "I Raddi" in Via dell'Ardiglione, a very old and famous Tuscan tavern that is specialized in Florentine Steak. Lastly the "Trattoria Zà Zà" is another really great place near the centre of the city with amazing food that is usually not swarmed by tourists. I could go on an on but I've already written a wall of text xD But as a golden rule, any restaurant where you see more Italians than Tourists will usually be pretty good.

Again near the Academy Gallery in Via Cavour there is another small museum that holds quite a few models of Leonardo da Vinci's machines, aptly named "Leonardo da Vinci Machines", which can also be quite interesting to visit. There are also loads of great gardens that are worth visiting like the Villa Medicea di Castello, even if honestly nothing beats the countryside near Florence and Siena. San Gimignano is also an amazing village to visit if you're heading to Siena as well, with its multitude of towers. There's also a museum there in San Gimignano that is all about Medieval Tortures, which is actually quite interesting and is a nice break from statues and paintings.

Really happy that you enjoyed Florence so much to come back here a second time :D There are so many things to see and places to recommend that I could probably sit here writing for a couple hours, but aside from the classic museums, (Uffizi, Accademia Gallery, Vasari Corridor, Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello Museum, Dante's House and many more) the various Piazzas (Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza della Signoria, Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza Santo Spirito, etc) and other places like the Piazzale Michelangelo and Boboli Garden, I'd definitely recommend less-known places like the "Opificio delle Pietre Dure", a small museum in Via Alfani near the Academy Gallery, which is both a museum for really great works made out of valuable gems and one of the biggest centres for the restoration of ancient works of art.
