I gotta say I quite like this game

It's a bit quirky, but as far a rogues go, it's quite decent

It's tough to know whether to recommend this game or not.

It doesn't particularly bring a lot more to the franchise than different scenery, or at least that's how it feels.

There is slightly less combat in this one (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but what I found annoying was that it seemed much harder to find a stealthy route through combat areas. She doesn't seem to conceal the bodies quite as well as before - if you're hiding in a bush and do a stealth takedown, she never quite 100% conceals them in the bush and they are always found easily. The areas seem more compact making it harder to move around and take advantage of hiding spots. Inevitably most areas ended up in a firefight.

The quick time events (dog on your arm etc) are the same as before - slightly jarring in the immersion factor to see the < A | D > and the (F) pop up, but i guess they're fitting and not too often, so not that annoying

The quick time sequences (for want of a better description) where you have to run/jump/grab/traverse in a time sensitive environment, though, are just as terrible (if not more so) as before. There seem to be a few more in this outing and they always end up in try after try after try until they really just aren't fun.

What makes them more annoying, though, is that it seems like they've changed (tweaked maybe) the way the camera behaves, that make them, and the game in general so frustrating in places it almost made me want to hurl something out the window. There's 2 camera modes for it and the both aren't what they say. One mode supposedly follows your movement, and the other supposedly just stays where you point it. Except they're both a slight mix of each other. It's like we've returned to the annoying 'Angel of Darkness' camera at times. There was one specific jump I must have failed about 10 times because the camera kept turning slightly, which altered her running direction and therefore made the jump slightly off the direction it needed to be, meaning she wasn't in reach of the ledge she needed to grab. Of course when this happens in the quick time sequences and she misses swinging off a lamppost or doesn't jump to a ledge in the right direction, over and over and over again, it got really really frustrating to the point I almost gave up and refunded.

I'm glad I didn't though. Despite all the minor annoyances, there is still a decent game and story under it all.

There are a lot of tombs / crypts to explore and quite a few have different aspects like wind / fire / etc in them offering quite different puzzling/platforming experiences. The achievements (in game and steam) are interesting enough to make you want to do them.

I'm also glad I got it with the season pass when they were both on sale.

This is why I am going to recommend it, BUT, only if you can get it & the season pass on sale.

Early Access Review
Even though this game isn't finished yet, what is there frankly feels like a full game - it's just waiting for some more levels.

Fans of the original Train Valley will love this. It's been updated so the game play is different, but it's familiar enough that you'll get into the swing of it straight away.

If you've not played Train Valley, then I highly recommend you get them both!

Simply sublime - everything is just so well thought out

This game is just brilliant.
It's so atmospheric and gloomy - really suits the mood of the game.
Puzzles are good - some more challenging than others - only a small few are down to getting timing just right

As for the ending - that just blew my mind

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole time playing it!

I'm writing a negative review not because the game is particularly bad - I've actually quite enjoyed the 40 hours I've put in so far - but becuase the save game method is just utter rubbish.

I'll start by saying that I'm not a save scummer, but I do usually make lots of saves in most games. So when I started Mafia 3 I was a bit dissapointed you couldn't just save the game. But after playing it, it actually seemed ok-ish, it saved regularly sure, so I figure that's ok.

However on loading the game just now, I had a power cut. Upon restarting the game again, all my saves are gone/corrupt/deleted. ALL OF THEM. There is no save from an hour before, a day ago, two days ago, a week ago, NOTHING AT ALL. My entire play history of the game is gone. Wiped clean.

Knowing that this could just happen again, at any time, and I'd be back to the beginning, I simply do not want to play the game ever again. It's for this reason I'm giving this (fairly fun) game a negative review. If I was able to save in my usual method, I would have several saves dating back over the last few weeks to call upon - and sure I'd be annoyed, but at least I would only have a bit extra to do to get back to where I was.

Shocking. Simply Shocking.

Well worth the current price tag of £2
Such a deep game, and one that has aged very well.
Go back to the beginning of it all ahead of Andromeda!!

Great Game!
Great Storyline, beautiful graphics, fun gameplay, nicely paced progression.

It is slightly repetitive though - but it's fun repetitive, rather then tedious.

This looks like it could be a really great and fun game to play with your mates.

Unfortunately multiplayer doesn't work. AT ALL!!!

I have had 0% luck getting this working and the game company have not responded to any emails I have sent them asking for support. Judging by the current forums posts I'm not alone, and it hasn't worked properly for at least a month or so.

Check the forums posts before buying this game as you never know, they may fix this issue after I've posted this.

Wow! Bought for £4 in the xmas sale, and not regretted parting with my cash one bit. I think I'd have been happy if I parted full price for it to be honest. The game is so atmospheric - at first having clones and swapping is weird and you end up with a weird sense of detachedness, which fits the game, running around this big old deserted ship with a single voice guiding you. It also has a great puzzles and a nice back story to boot, and all of this coming from an indie publisher. I can't wait to see how the game ends, it's been great fun!
