Early Access Review
This game is pretty fun. It's what happens when Battlefield collides with Roblox, and a game loving community comes together to enjoy a mass battle. Overall, for being an early access product (at the time of this review), the game itself runs smooth. Mechanics wise, there are some issues, like being able to revive through floors, having multiple people bandage up others at their own pace without much of an indication/without a helping hands mechanic, and the lack of a health bar (not really that big of a deal). But game play wise and performance? This game purrs. The menus could use some more visual/audio feedback to confirm whether settings are saved or are active/inactive.

The only game breaking part of this game is an issue with the way the servers are currently set up. If you try to join a BattleBit game with more than two people on the same network, the game will start to indicate heavy packet loss, refuse to register shots, and bandaging will stop working. It can get to the point where it is impossible to join a game as well. This unfortunately caused trouble for myself and other players at a large (>200 person) LAN party who all wanted to play BattleBit, and we ended up playing other games. Hopefully this can be fixed soon, or the game can offer dedicated server binaries for LANs and private communities to stand up their own games.

EDITED!

DICE Seems to be improving the game since I last reviewed it a year ago. The new maps are pretty fun, the game itself seems more balanced. Players seem to be coming back, as I've had far less games with Bots and more full (128 player) games with humans. What hasn't been fixed yet is the performance of the game. You need at least an 8 core processor to run this game smoothly, to leave room for the OS and other apps, etc. Otherwise, expect the game engine to start choking and inputs/movement to delay during dogfights. I often get killed without hearing/seeing what killed me, or seeing my death occur two seconds after I died, or my gun switching is delayed, on a Ryzen 5 1600 :(. At this point I assume it's because the engine is busy calculating physics for 64 - 128 players worth of action, and you really just need to throw a lot of power at the game. There's not really Hitscan in this game. The audio bugs I experienced prior with Battlefield 2042 have since been fixed. The game has been updated to no longer require Origin, and instead uses the "EA" App.

All in all, Battlefield 2042 is a Battlefield game. The gameplay is technical, the world design is amazing, and the game looks great at 4K HDR. There is a major update coming in the Spring to rework the classes, and this is expected to bring the game back to the way older Battlefield games played. Thanks to EA for bringing Battlefield to Steam.

Fun game to play with friends, colleagues, and other groups of people who you know. Best done when you can get in an audio chat, which is mainly the weakness of this game - no in-game voice chat.

They finally did it. They brought Halo back to the PC. The drought that occurred after Halo 2 for Windows Vista was a long one. For a while it seemed that flagship games on console like Halo would never make it to the PC. Until now. While not all of the Halo games are out yet for PC, it's a welcome sign to see Halo games returning, on Steam even! What shocked me was when I clicked the Play button - There is a dedicated button that disables the Anti-Cheat for Mod support <3. What modern developer/publisher actively supports Mods on a major game title?

Halo runs like a champ. A few things feel off, like the weapons hit registration beyond 60FPS, and there are few bugs that are occurring in Reach with audio mixing and triggering objectives through walls. But the game runs smooth. I'm looking forward to the other Xbox to PC ports, and to see how the remasters of Halo 1 and Halo 2 turn out (I own both on CD for PC) once they are released.

Fair warning: The game does ask you to sign in to a Microsoft account on first launch. Have one ready.
