The comedy and charm of Portal 1 and 2 are not there, but you can tell these guys tried. The test chambers (puzzles) are challenging, and the entire mod in general is extremely well done. The voice acting is very good, and the story is put together well. Because you're a fan of Portal, it's definitely worth a play through.

This game is not worth the regular $40 pricetag. But, if it's on sale, and you have VR, and want an engaging single player campaign, I say pick it up. I didn't try multiplayer. I had trouble connecting to EA servers, so I simply played it offline. Overall, I found the campaign to be an enjoyable immersive experience.

I'll start off by saying that this game is absolutely beautiful! The environments are very lively and realistic. You can easily get lost in the scenery as you walk around in this extremely slow paced game. People may call this a walking simulator. I call it a sneaking simulator. It rewards a lot of patience. The main thing that would make me not recommend this game is the amount of DLCs they've implemented. If you want to play this game seriously, it'll be hard to be content with just the base game. Buying the bundle on sale is probably a good start, but you will find the urge to buy the other DLCs that aren't included as you play the game, which makes it suck that they weren't included with the base game or the bundle.

Bridge Crew will start off as one of the best gaming experiences you'll have, especially in VR. Playing this game with three other friends where you have no idea what the hell you're doing makes this game fantastic! Unfortunately, as you keep playing, you will realize how bland the missions will become. Eventually, you'll either figure out exactly what to beat every mission, or play the game with strangers who do. Unfortunately, this takes the fun out of the game. But, I feel it's still a VR must have. As you play in VR, you'll get the feeling that you are basically hanging out with friends. The game, the sounds, the implementation makes you feel like you are in the same room in real life with those friends. Having random conversations, talking with your hands, adds greatly to the immersion that you are actually here with real people, piloting an actual starship!

I mean, yeah, you should get it. It's a game that everyone should at least own. You will suck at first. Then you will get better and better as you spend hundereds of hours at the game. You will think you're pretty good. Then you will watch pros and get demoralized. It's great!

Not the perfect racing game (simulator), but a very very good one. It has a decent selection of cars and tracks, and the physics are really good if you're looking for simulation. Still not the best physics of any racing game I played (that, in my opinion goes to Live for Speed), but is extremely close. Mod support is also a big plus for this game. If I had to nitpick at the things I don't like about it, I wish it had a more variety of different type of cars, and more global track selection instead of them mostly being European tracks with a few exceptions. More hill climb tracks would be great, too (currently only has just one, with others available through the modding community). Weather and night racing would be a great addition, as well, but I'm told the engine can't really support it. But, otherwise, it's a great looking game that runs very smooth and looks good even on an average PC. It also had good wheel support and FFB, as well as VR support, which is the only way I can play racing games, now.

The core story of this game is alright. Then it goes wrong from there. In this game you are a young girl who ends up in a sunken metropolis with your injured brother. There, as the young girl, you must explore this city to find supplies to save your brother from death. The game ends up being kinda repetitive, as you climb different buildings to access the supply crates at the top of them. In order to climb these building, you encounter rather conveniently placed ledges and vines to create paths up these buildings, and it gets tedious and boring. As you climb, you will find secret paths that allows you to locate and acquire secrets that uncover the mystery of the city in picture story form. But, it's hard to figure out which routes up the buildings takes you to the secrets or the crate at the top. So, if you are trying to collect all the secrets, like I was, you'll end up taking the wrong paths, having to backtrack numerous times in order to do so. This got me to the point where I just wanted to stop playing and delete the game from my hard drive. But, the game is short, and in about 4.5 hours of playing time, I was able to beat the game and retrieve all the secrets. The game is not difficult. You cannot die in it or fail. You just play it. Overall, I think I wasted those 4.5 hours.

This game is capable of being really good, or really boring and tedious, depending on how you go about playing it. The game is a realistic sandbox space simulator that includes the entire Milky Way galaxy with four hundred billion different star systems for you to explore. When you first find the zoom out button while looking at the galaxy map, it's pretty jaw dropping spectacular. But, with a game this big, you need to realize that most of it (practically all of it) is auto-generated. So, it's pretty rare (nearly impossible) to come across something you haven't seen so many times in other star systems. There are some cool things out there, though, but you'll probably have to google them to find out where they are, because you probably won't come across anything, randomly. Therefore, I recommend using a variety of missions to make money. If you focus on one thing (cargo, passenger transport, bounty hunting, exploring, mining, etc.) to make money, it can quickly become repetitive. My suggestion is try to accumulate different ships for different types of missions. This will allow you to easily make more money doing missions that the ship is designed to do, and can complete missions with larger payouts.

The Horizons Season Pass brings the capability of planetary approaches, allowing you to land on planets and moons without atmospheres, and includes having Surface Recon Vehicles (SRV) become available to purchase and use. This will add even more variety to gameplay and think it's worth the extra cost if you want more to the game.

100% of my hours in the game have been playing in VR. I think this probably keeps me interested in the game, as VR is implemented extremely well. The entire game is cockpit based, which makes it perfect for a VR experience. If you are at all a fan of space games, and have a VR headset, I would suggest looking at this game.

Overall, I understand the negative reviews of this game. It can be a grind. The ship you want may cost a ridiculous amount of money and might take an unreasonable amount of time to be able to purchase. But, with it, you get a game that brings a realistic portrayal of the galaxy that you just cannot find in any other game. That's what makes it enjoyable, for me. The game also seems to continue to develop, so who knows what else Frontier will offer to improve the game.

I tend to like these types of games, and usually can get an easy recommendation from me. Deponia has some decent humor to it, but will constantly do little things to annoy the piss out of you. Many of the puzzles just simply don't make sense. It may seem completely obvious that doing something you have in mind should work, but the writers would rather you do it their way, which makes less sense. This is a minor flaw, though. The bigger flaw is that the game is downright buggy. If you skim through the discussion forums you'll see a lot of problems the game has, and the devs only solution is to download a new save file. Even with known issues, the game doesn't seem to get patched, and you're simply stuck with downloading a different save file, which could throw your own game out of sequence. I usually want to complete games like this, but this has made me lose my motivation to finish it, even as I have the sequels in my library waiting to be played, but will now likely never be installed.

As I type this, this game is available for free this weekend, and will stay in your library permanently.

Consortium is a fun little first person mystery/adventure game which takes place on a futuristic jet liner. I'm partially through my first playthrough and am actually rather impressed in the amount of quality in aspects like game design and voice acting. It's rather open ended, so you can play it how you see fit. You can role play the character basically anyway you like. Definitely worth free!
