Probably the best value for money you can buy. Simple and addictive gameplay with pleasantly deep underlying mechanics and rewarding progression. The game respects both your time and your finances and is an honest to god breath of fresh air in this cesspit of an industry we consume in these days.

The game is constantly supported with new and interesting content and the recent addition of co-operative play is well-balanced and a massive shift in minute-to-minute enjoyment as you theory-craft and plan your progression alongside someone else. It's not the best of it's type in my opinion, but it's hard to argue the sheer value it delivers, it's pretty much unrivalled in that respect.

The only aspects I'm not super keen on are the graphics (they feel a little too fuzzy and basic for me) and the music, I cannot staaaaand the music. But this is just personal preference and I know a lot of people enjoy the tunes, I just put on a playlist and soldier on regardless :)

Thank you Poncle, for respecting your customers and doing what AAA don't.

Despite being verified and the whole reason I bought the game, it controls terribly on the Steam Deck. Neither sensitivity sliders do a thing. Shame as I could have seen myself really enjoying it.

So this is an incredible repacking of the DOOM games that really breathes life in to their old bones and tbh is what we should have got in 2019.

But I have some seriously big gripes with it so far:
  • No way to turn off background gameplay when in menus, even mod browser.
  • No options to clip through players in co-op, narrow pathways kill the flow of gameplay.
  • No kill feed or player names in death match, impossible to know who you're killing or being killed by.
  • No way to search mods based on keyword (seriously?).
  • Mod filters and page number resets when backing out of viewing a specific mod.
  • No way to unsubscribe from mods in the Play menu.
  • No way to filter by liked mods.
  • Achievements are boring and lack any creativity.
And I'm sure there's more I've not encountered yet. These might be small issues to some, but for me they feel like really obvious omissions that give the port a sense of laziness.

You only have to play 16 player co-op for 2 minutes to realise the lack of player clipping is a big issue, you only need to browse the mods for 30 seconds to realise it's a chore and you only have to get one kill in matchmaking to notice it's lacking key information that elevates the experience.

For these reasons, I can't currently recommend this release. It has too many rough edges that honestly surprise me coming from Nightdive.

I should note, most of my gameplay experience so far comes from playing on the Xbox port, but I've checked and all the issues listed apply to the PC port version too.

This game is solid fun and the Eternal Battle mode brings some variety to the experience, the battle royale type mode with a few friends is genuinely fun, especially if you all end up at the final boss together as the difficulty spike makes things pretty intense!

The biggest downfall for this game is the price, even at half its cost it's not worth the content you're given and the fact we're nearly a year after launch and the cost still hasn't had a significant enough drop, is actively killing this game's chance of earning an audience.

If your main draw to this game is the multiplayer, I'd engage your friend finding skill or pass entirely, the game is too expensive to hold enough of a crowd to keep the Eternal Battle mode lively. But if you just love classic Arkanoid and want an excuse to play a modern take on the formula with a fresh lick of paint, I'd highly suggest getting it on a good sale.

The primary reason this game is rated down is due to the price choking it's ability to retain players, everything else about the game is well made and polished Arkanoid goodness!

It's also worth noting there and single-player modes and you can play the EB mode with bots, so you aren't locked out entirely without other players.

I know the Call of Duty series isn't exactly a squeaky clean franchise but something about the presentation and delivery of this game drew me back in after leaving the series over 10 years ago between Black Ops and MW3.

I'm glad I gave it another shot, it finally seems like the teams behind the game care about delivering a truly great product with lots of staying power and value for money (despite a pretty shoddy and crash-happy launch, but what blockbuster game doesn't these days?).

The sheer amount of content alone here really is trying hard to justify its swollen-at-best price. Right now you get the below features and game modes:

- Single player campaign (fully featured with lots of variety in gameplay)
- Co-op campaign missions (similar to Spec Ops but with more variety and scale)
- All fan favourite multiplayer modes (including the return of third-person)
- Ground War (Call of Duty's answer to Battlefield's Conquest mode)
- Warzone 2.0 (Call of Duty's answer to Battle Royale games, featuring 150 players)
- DMZ (Call of Duty's answer to Escape from Tarkov's scavenger raids)

It could be argued that Modern Warfare 2 actually does some of the game modes above better than their direct competition, all in the same package. That's obviously debatable but I think at least most can agree that Ground War is confidently filling a pretty empty hole left by Battlefield right now.

Just 1-2 of the modes above would have made a great game with lots of value and replayability, but to get all 6 only a few short weeks after release and to have each one of them offer something entirely unique and exciting to cater to a broad range of specific players' needs is just something I really think the developers should be commended for, they made something they should be proud of. And after the dust has settled and post-launch bugs have been patched, MW2 will be one hell of a solid game with a lot of content to keep you entertained for years to come.

I'm the last person to give modern CoD games any credit, but this time I think they actually give players enough content to justify the purchase, and as a once HUGE Halo fan, they've shown Microsoft what real content and post-launch support looks like.

Congrats to all involved, I'll be playing for at least a few months to come and thoroughly enjoying myself.

A perfect blend of Postal insanity, humour and character with gunplay, movement and design of classic shooters from the 90s. Postal 4 has its place, but Postal Brain Damaged is much more the direction I personally hoped the series would go in, so glad they're both able to exist. Bring on the brain damage!

The best modern version of Quake fans could ask for:

- The full game with the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack finally included
- Four official expansions
- Online PvP, co-op and horde modes
- Up to 4K resolution
- Ultrawide support
- PC-to-console crossplay
- Easy mod support, including the PS1 version
- The original version of Quake and expansions included

At this point I just pray id Software are planning to have Nightdive work on modernising Quake II.

Removed from customers' Steam libraries without warning or explanation. Not sure how I can recommend a game there are no guarantees you'll be allowed to keep, regardless of whether its a decent experience or not. Very disappointing.

UPDATE: The "solution" quoted by the developers' response to my review has turned out to be heavily discounting the Agony bundle and then having original customers buy it again. Regardless of fault (they seem obsessed with stating who's fault it is like this makes any difference in the grand scheme of things), this is not an adequate solution and I'd question whether it was even legal in certain regions like the EU.

I for one will not be re-purchasing the game, it might have been free with the censored version, but the truth is we bought a package, my money either way went to the same developer for the products they quoted. This has now been ripped away and placed behind another pay wall. Will steer well clear of this developer from now on. Lesson learned.
