I just really, really, really wanted For Honor to be good. Peer to Peer connections and microtransactions are why I refunded.
Mechanically, this game is great, and did new things I hadn't seen in a Melee fighting game before; It was fun and innovative and during the betas seemed like it could work despite Ubisoft being involved.

When For Honor fully released, it was night and day difference; constantly being returned to the title screen, kicked from parties, disconnected from matchmaking AND my network at home. Rediculous first-day problems that should have been solved during testing phases and with a play model involving dedicated servers.

Thanks, Ubisoft. At least Steam refunded the $99.99 for the season pass.

The best part about being the owner of this review, is that I can delete your idiotic comments of circular arguments full of holes and obviously misinformed opinions.

@Seiko300 I checked your profile, you do not even own For Honor...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd find it extremely difficult to type at all, let alone put together a cohesive thought, while simultaneously taking the full length of Ubisoft's corporate dick up my ass.

The main reason people dont like peer to peer is becuase it is unsafe. Someone in anywhere in the world could have your IP address with very little effort. This is not a good thing.

I played quite a few hours in the Open beta of For Honor which is why I initially purchased it; Going based soley off of my ingame time is asinine, because the Open Beta was a seperate item in your steam library from the full release. Peer to Peer is bullshit, and For Honor will be dead within a year from hacking and lack of playerbase.

And either way, even if your argument IS true, you have absolutely no right to talk about it because you haven't experienced enough of the game to make an educated estimate on whether or not the game is good or not, and even less so to actually ADVISE people on buying it. If anything most people with this amount of hours take things off of OTHER peoples experiences and negative reviews and plant them on their own to give some kind of "credibility" which does nothing but mis-inform 1. other players and 2. the developers on how prevalent a problem actually IS. And finally 3. whether or not the problem is or is not relevant can most definitely persuade possible buyers. Do everyone a favor, and take this review down.

I've PLAYED games that rely on peer to peer connection, I'm not going to read a stupid article about experiences i've already HAD.

I realize that it may not be the most ideal form of connecting multiplayer games together, however I feel that this is a case "if it's not broken don't fix it." And of course there will ALWAYS be a margin of error, no matter what game you're playing something will happen at least ONCE to mess up that perfect track record, however if it works well enough a majority of the time (which I have heard it DOES) then dedicated servers (while they would still be greatly appreciated) are not required, or even remotely necessary. And those of you who are downplaying an entire game simply because of "EHRMAHGHERD, PEER TO PEER IS THE WORST" are absolute morons.

Consider this article before playing games that rely on Peer to Peer connections for online multiplayer

*Game has literally been released 2 days ago*
*less than an hour of gametime*
*complains about non-existent microtransactions*
