A short demo, showcasing the faithful recreation of half life 2 in unreal engine.
While it didn't really bring anything big and new to the table conceptwise, it was still nice to play through.
It did bug me a bit that I had to replay the entire thing because it didn't count the gnome when I went through the door with him and I actually had to place him down.
Otherwise pretty cool from the graphics, sound and atmosphere.
I hope that the full Project Borealis will bring along many new and innovative ideas.

The voice acting made me laugh more than it had any right to. The gameplay is alright, nothing groundbreaking and I was stuck a little at the first area. It is also rather short and because of that I can't really be too harsh for the lack of content and polish. This was obviously just made as a fun project of the developer.
I did find it rather annoying that the hud was missing. Or at least the crosshair. The weapons given to the player also felt a little random as you barely had any incentive to use weapon variety. I did not use the grenade a single time and I can also see people not using the revolver when they collect it (because that would be hard without a crosshair).
I do think this needs some more polish before I can give a positive review.

This game has much ambition. It has good, like the visuals and the weapons, however what it lacks is a clear direction for the player as well as a ongoing narrative. In many situations I was confused by the level design and sometimes it even seemed unfair like the laser grid. Other times I found great enjoyment in traversing the well designed and open locations.
It is these open big locations that also kinda make this mod feel like a dream of sorts. If you would play half life 2 in a dream, then this mod is pretty much what it would feel like. Can't really say if I can reccomend this or not. Try it out if you want a open, dreamlike and disconnected half life 2 experience with good graphics.

A short but sweet mod, sticking relatively closely to the source material of half life 2.
While it doesn't do anything revolutionary, it still makes for a balanced and fun game experienced. I especially enjoyed the granade based puzzles, which were all crafted in a way to carefully nudge the player to the solution. Generally speaking the level design was very good. A warehouse was a good location choise as it was both original and made for it's own gameplay quirks. It was not too oversaturated with props but not barren either. The gunship fight at the end also makes for a good finale. Despite being released in 2012 this holds up very well to todays standards.

The mod was fun to play and had good locations. The car ride and lighthouse were in a very cool, gloomy, setting. The gameplay was close to the original hl2. The locations also make for great arena's where you can duke it out with combine and other enemies. While I found that the abandoned house segment was a bit confusing, it may not be the same for other players. I didn't understand the metal things were used with batteries, as there were no batteries previously in such places in the mod. More knowledged hl2 players will likely have no problems with this, but newbees might get confused as well. The end section on the bridge is also very cool, especially when you know when to use your crossbow.
All in all, a very solid mod I could reccomend for any half life 2 enthusiast. While it doesn't do anything groundbreaking it is still a great gameplay experience. 8/10

If you like super precise jumping, this mod might be just for you.
When I started playing the mod I was inicially surprised by it's quality. Besides the few questionably precise jumps you have to make early on, it felt very good to play. The choise to have the mag get lost when reloading too early is cool and not many games do it. What I do not like is that the mod does't nudge you into the right direction very often. This would be no issue if diverging paths had rewards like healthpacks or ammo, but they rarely do. The trash compactor segment, was probably the most miserable I ever felt while playing half life 2 or one of it's mods. Not only is it not apparant where you have to go, but you also have to quick save after almost every jump because a few seconds later you are already greeted with the next super precise jump to make. I can say with confidence this is bad level design, when even the people from the walkthroughs on youtube have no clue where to go. Please, don't do something like this again in act 2.
The part after the trash compactor was good again. Although a few of the headcrab placements were very unforgiving.
If you focus more on building cool locations with enemy encounters as well as more prop related puzzles, I think this mod would be very good, as I see much potential in it. Less parcour though please. 5/10

Fun gameplay and cool story. A very nice sourcemod. It started off very strong and fun gameplay wise, but later became a bit tedious at some points. A few of the puzzles were not very understandable for me. I thought the lasers had to do with the many green and red switches but after about 10 Minutes of trying I figured i was on the wrong foot. A clear indicator for the player to look up would have been good. Most games with puzzles have one or two outliers I guess. Ending battle was a bit complicated but still fun gameplay wise even on hard difficulty. The soundtrack was nice as well. Escpecially the credits theme was a bop.
All in all, nice mod and brings some new stuff to the table. 7/10

Early Access Review
This is a good gaming experience, especially with friends. Dominion gives lots of variety in strategies and playsets that one may encounter. It also has many small neat things like card sounds, backgrounds and more. Although I love playing this game, there are a few things that could be improved.

1. The game likes to crash when moving around cards in the UI (for example with Sentry or Seer)
2. The weekly DLC Rotation is a phenomenal feature, however it has been stuck on the same DLC for a long time. This should get fixed asap to give the players more variety.
3. Matchmaking has good features like rewinds, friendly mode and long time for turns, however it would be good if the matchmaking was developed even more, as there are times where no matches can be found.
4. Add the ingame achievements to steam, so people can show them off to their friends and level up on steam.

With this out of the way, I am going to give this positive review for Dominion and have high hopes for the future of the game.
