At the time of review, I have 675 hours in the game. It's by no means perfect, but it's fun. Realm offers a unique take on the battle royale genre with classes. Currently, the game features 4 classes, each of which has varied abilities in addition to class unique weapons. This opens up the game to feel fresh and new with a plethora of weapons at your disposal.

RNG plays a huge factor in chest drops but feels well-balanced at the time of this review. Another exciting mechanic is the idea of "shards." Any item you don't want can be turned into shards, a currency that you collect each match. Shards can be taken to a forge and used to craft weapons, abilities, potions, and special runes. This forged items are class specific and extremely powerful, allowing players to fight into enemies with added firepower.

The game has a solid pace and large map that allows for frequent combat but not too dense of a player area. Lag is somewhat frequent in a server-side way but nothing too unmanageable. Bots also exist that allow newer players to gain their footing without slowing down more experienced veterans.

Pros:
Allows teammate revival
You become a chicken upon death and can play again if you survive for 30 seconds
Very different feeling weapons
Unique classes that give the game an actual array of variety
Spells and abilities allow for more than just gunplay

Cons:
Infrequent updates
More buggy than Hirez's previous games
EXPENSIVE cosmetics
Bots :)
A lack of community driven patches

This game gives everything Roller Coaster Tycoon had with so much more. On lower end PCs, it can struggle to run but still is good enough to make it enjoyable. The devs are extremely devoted to making it a great game going forward. Don't even consider RCTW because it's trash. This is from the creators of RCT3, so they know what makes an awesome Tycoon game and roller coaster sim. Buy this game!

To begin, I have had DCUO on OS3 for roughly 4 years with 800 hours played and on PS4 with about 100 hours. Recently, I started is on PC and it is no different from console versions, so this review will apply to any system. That being said, DCUO is a toss up in terms of well crafted, F2P MMOs.

For quite a time, Sony owned and maintained this title to be excellent. Recently, it was sold to Daybreak and has struggled to maintain it's life. People will call this game "Pay to win" and in some aspects, it makes sense but truthfully it isn't. End game content can have some "flavor of the month" powers but for most solo and story play, all powers and roles are perfectly viable. There is no distint "best power" in the game.

That being said, 6 are free at the beginning with 7 more being available as DLC for $35 for them all. I have purchased all the powers and find that, though each is unique and requires different play styles, none are remotely required for PvE or PvP.

The game is notoriously buggy as of late (last 6 months), which is mainly due to DayBreak not maintaining QA and failing to listen to consumers. They are still producing monthly content that is pretty good as far as story goes, so that's a plus.

Speaking of story, the one in this game is fantastic as well. It incorporates DC's best heroes and really make good use of many of them. If you're looking for a F2P MMO, this is never a bad one to play, but content is slightly hindered with pricewalls, even if they don't stop completion of the main story.
