I am not entirely certain how to express my emotions on the game. Except perhaps to underline the lack of them? Yes, let's go with that. I have no feelings towards the game.

And I really should, I've been waiting 20 years for this game. Or near enough. I backed from the moment the fig campaign was announced. Homeworld has been my top quality game for as long as I can remember. But if you asked me if you should pick this up at the current price point I'd say no.

It's not worth it.

It ain't worth 50 pounds, and the deluxe edition is perhaps even more of a rip off.

The story is almost criminally short, if I wasn't taking things slow because of hard mode and IRL commitments, I think I'd have been finished even sooner. It's also somehow simultaneously both over-dramatic and lacking in meaty stakes. Much of what drives the plot is not explained well, if at all. Things are stated, and not explained as to why beyond Hyperspace did it.

I can feel they were aiming for a story more focused on a character trying to living up to a legacy of famous mentor, but they failed in this. It needed more to tell that story.

I can't tell why it ended up like this, if my standards were too high, if trying to capture the enjoyment of HW1, HW2 and Cata, as well as DOK was a little like trying to capture lightning in a bottle, if nostalgia has distorted what I remember from the other games.

It's a crying shame it ended up like this, as aside from bugs the gameplay is pretty good. The artwork and ship design is on point and perhaps the best they've done yet. The units are a little truncated, but to be fair to the developers, I actually used all of them this time rather than just falling back on old reliable ball of Frigate Death. I can't forget about the music as well, because it's great. I love it.

It's just such a shame the rest isn't up to par.

With the PSN network fixed, the game should get it's positive review. It's only fair. It is exceptionally fun, and creates those moments that make you go "Remember that one time......." with your mates as you fight it out.

Seriously, it's great fun. I really recommend it for some low stakes, high action enjoyment.

Great Game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Publishers.

Like it's a really good game, lots of fun, moments that'll stick with you and so on. But I have no desire to link my account to a network that keeps on taking Ls like the titanic took on water.

The concept is good. The execution leaves much to be desired and with the game being thrown to the modding community to finish, I'd not recommend this game at all unless you want to be a part of that community.
