This game is pretty fantastic so far, some crashes but these are new game growing pains that will hopefully get fixed soon

The microtranactions are earnable in game at a pretty fair rate, and hopefully this doesn't change, because at this rate I will be able to earn the premium battlepass relatively quickly.

Gunplay is weighty and visceral, heavier weapons drag around and are harder to aim, light weapons are snappy and responsive, the first person camera is detailed and immersive.

Enemies are varied, many different type of bugs and robots to blow up with gratuitous violence. Some are absolutely terrifying too, stalker bugs that turn invisible, the pukebugs, and oh my god the whole robot faction has me feeling like the future war scenes in terminator. Since the game is live service I wouldn't doubt that we will eventually get other factions to fight as well, possibly dissedents or the psychic faction from the first game.

The real highlight so far is the stratagems, they are gta cheat codes that you type in to call in an airstrike or ammo box, or to bring back someone from the dead, or a turrent emplacement etc. Whats really fun is that all these are not enemy friendly so about 30% of the time you'll end up blowing up your friends in comical ways, or the auto turret will fire at the enemy through where you are standing. Really hilarious stuff happening here (and in higher difficulties completely necessary to win)

Some people are complaining about no cars but I can see why they didn't bring them into third person, the change from isometric top down to 3rd person really changes the dynamics of traversal so I don't see a problem there.

People are also complaining about the anti cheat, and personally I don't have a huge problem with it, and I see the reason they want it in. Microtransactions are earnable in game, if you could cheat get them it would ruin it.

One thing of note is how rebindable the keys are, as someone with weird legacy keybindings from Quake shareware back in the say, being able to rebind the game (almost) exactly as I want to really stands out compared to games that I also really like, like Cyberpunk where you can't rebind f and a lot of other buttons, or Risk of Rain 2 where you can't rebind mouse keys to certain actions, and I have to use AHK to fix that. This game doesn't have that problem :D

Overall, this game is a fantastic buy for 40 bucks if you are gonna play it a lot, heck get the premium edition if you really like it.

I'm doing my part, are you?

This game is like Dragon Age but with more full frontal

Really fun story, the origins are all interesting and provide a nice twist on the story and its a pretty darn faithful adaptation of DnD 5e.

The graphics are good and it runs well on my mid tier laptop from a couple years ago.

Play it

Its Darkest Dungeon except you aren't unduly punished for failure. Some of the gameplay changes aren't exactly what I wanted, and I miss the crusader but, this game is REALLY good.

Pros:
+Beautiful Updated 3d Graphics
+Even more Wayne June
+New Characters
+Characters now all have backstorys like Shieldbreaker that you go to an altar for and unlock moves with
+New mechanics for the gameplay skeleton from DD 1
+New enemies and mechanics
+The music is good, again
+Less punished by death, its a roguelike now, so won't get sad from losing you max level perfect crusader with the best quirks with an 90% virtue chance

Cons:
-Some characters feel weak without upgrades/unlockable skills (which are harder to get)
-No Reynauld :( Dismas misses his bff and I miss the DEUS VULT
-They nerfed MY GUY leper

Mixed Bag:
~Nerfed Stuns heavily, being the strongest strategy in DD1, this makes sense, but I feel it was slightly overnerfed
~New Dodge/Miss mechanics are neat, but incremental accuracy from the first game felt better on some characters
~Tooltips are a very explanatory ONCE you have the skill, can't really see what they are off the bat
~the cart instead of the hamlet, not far enough in to judge this yet but its way less frustrating, but has less investment

Letter Grade
A, 93%

The complaints I have are mostly superficial or related balance and just starting the game, this game is gorgeous and extremely fun.

Best game I've played. Performance can be choppy at times, but that should be fixed soon. Amazing soundtrack, beautiful world, terrifying enemies and environments.

Its hard, but thats the point. It's a mountain to be climbed and explored.

Its the best battle royale imo, characters are fun to play and somewhat balanced (as of now horizon is kinda op, loba is kinda weak) guns have variety and are satisfying to use with a good learning curve and none feel like they don't belong in the game. The best part of the game is the movement, jumping has air control, climbing is easy to do and necessary for repositioning. But nothing, NOTHING beats playing octane or pathfinder and jumping over someones head and gunning them down while flying through the air. This game also revolutionized the battle royale genre by adding pings (very useful) and a way to revive fallen teammates with the banner recovery system.

Content wise the game is a little lacking, with just the Battle Royale gamemode with some additional flavor put in during seasonal events. Also there is ranked.

You get points in ranked from 2 methods, placing high among the teams, or getting kills, and this creates a couple problems: Camping and Thirsting

You can get relatively high rank (albeit slowly) by just camping until you gain enough point to offset the entry penalty of your rank, not to mention that the lowest real rank is Silver because you literally cannot not go below bronze because you do not lose any ranked points in bronze, meaning you can get to silver literally by afking enough times to get the 1600 points need to get out of bronze. getting to highgold is relatively easy and requires camping rather than killing

Because the ranked system doesn't track how many times you down a person or how much damage you did, every time you are downed someone will try to finish you off as fast as possible, because it secures them the points they won't get if they die before you do. And holy ♥♥♥♥ people will chase you so hard to get a kill in ranked. I have no idea what the best way to do a ranked battle royale is but its not how Apex does it. Sometimes you get a game where no one can aim and you slaughter people left and right, other times you get in a game with people who have integrated their mouses directly to their brains and mash A and D and crouch with the fury of a thousand angry virgins and just absolutely wreck you. And then if someone does die, the enemies will camp the bodies because they know the teammate will try to retrieve their banner in an attempt to rez them, even if its super far outside of the circle because killing is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing once you get to high plat ranked not surviving

Maybe if the ranked system tracked damage or downs rather than the kill it would be a better ranked system but seriously just play the non ranked its better. I mean a battle royale is competitive by nature, theres like 57 dudes trying to kill you, and the normal mode is REALLY good, and usually has cool event things going on that add to the gameplay (ranked disables all the fun things, and all the fun too)

TL;DR Play octane he is really fun, don't play ranked its sweaty and encourages unfun tactics but the normal mode kicks ass.
