Never thought I'd obsess this much over optimized conveyor lines and production surpluses. Perfect for idiots like me who like over-engineering things.

I would like to thank Sony's ceaseless greed for killing this year's #1 game of mine.

Edit: 22/05/2024

Sony has now made the game entirely unlisted in my region and many others, likely preventing people from writing additional negative reviews and riling the community up. If you're reading this and still have a positive review listed, I highly encourage you to flip it to negative in protest.

Horrible performance, and constant visual glitches. Things like grates are constantly flickering, the menu has artifacts and lines appearing rapidly all the time.

As many people have noted, make sure to change the DLSS setting to "Custom" and then pick an option. It's going to DLSS 3.0 by default which is not supported by RTX 3000 series graphics cards.

Let's hope they'll patch this out, otherwise, this is a very sad and pathetic tech demo.

If you liked the original game - this one's for you (and if you haven't played it, you should!)
This game did so many things right. It used just enough of the original to feel like a sequel, yet added so many new mechanics, quirks, and just general QoL things that you'd expect in a modern game release. It has a very healthy balance of progression and challenge, and with the addition of House Rules, even that is extremely customizable.
This is without a doubt one of the best roguelites I've ever played, and it does so without compromising on story/lore. Talking to characters, reading notes, and going into further New Game cycles all reveal things about this world and the characters you know. Absolutely fantastic game with very passionate developers, and I loved every second of it.

This is not a battlefield game, nor is it a good game to begin with. Stay away.

Might be a little too early to tell but here it goes, will update if opinion changes drastically.
Main Campaign is paced pretty well, lasts about as much as Forsaken's did, maybe a little bit shorter. The dialogue and characters are top notch and the new abilities are very fun, I imagine they'll be used in higher tier activities like grandmaster nightfall and the like, currently they break pvp though so we'll definitely see a nerf coming.
Yes, it is what it is, gear sunsetting is a thing now and you'll have to say goodbye to some of your favorite weapons or armor, but in general things either got refreshed, or a reskinned variant with some new perks (or perk combinations) got reissued. There's a lot to do in the expansion still and it's just Day 3 now, with a lot more to come judging by triumphs and trailers/teasers.
And on a final note, the entire game got a number of major overhauls. Loading times are lightning fast now compared to before, at least on PC, they redid a lot of the in-game mechanics and in my opinion came up with a superior version, like moddable ghosts and instant summon for all sparrows. There's now a new "New Light" quest which is pretty good.
Overall very much recommend the expansion, even more so if you liked the "style" of Shadowkeep, not necessarily the execution or volume.

Incredible game, has an insane amount of content, detail and love. One of the most user-friendly games out there AND it has a great modding community.

It's 2020 now and this thing is still getting updates, definitely my pick for "Labor of Love".

2021 Update: Game just keeps getting better. There's also a "Don't Starve" crossover now, DEERCLOPS IN TERRARIA!
