Early Access Review
Currently seems to be very poorly balanced early on (not sure if it improves later). It's impossible to get high enough damage output to last more than a couple of minutes, and by then the enemies are already notably faster moving than you can get, even if you take all of the upgrades. In half an hour, I'm half way to having enough for one of the cheapest upgrades...
Maybe once you get most of them the game becomes playable? But at the rate I'm able to gain blue crystals right now, getting the first damage increase would take 3 hours of repetitive boredom.

I'll try to keep going and update if it does improve, but at the moment I would strongly recommend against giving it a go yourself.

Cheap and cheerful.
One of the bosses feels cheap, and another is very cheerful.

I think if you're looking at a very dated classic like this, it's probably because you're interested in playing a very dated classic like this. It doesn't last very long, and it doesn't give me that addictive "one more go" feeling that a lot of this genre does, but it's solid enough. Maybe not at full price though - I got it at 50% (£5.29) and I'm not convinced I'll get my moneys worth.

All that aside, if you suffer from arachnophobia, probably give it a miss.

Early Access Review
Very enjoyable little game with enough variety in your random weapon pickups to make runs feel different enough. Sometimes you get bad drops and are struggling to dodge hordes you can't kill quick enough struggling for just a little more xp, hoping for a life saving option. Sometimes you can basically afk after 3 minutes and nothing will ever get through your wall of fire.
The permanent upgrades are definitely very useful, and don't ever get during enough to trivialise the game.

If you play it in a casual manner, it's pretty, enjoyable, relaxing, wholesome goodness. Fairly simple at the moment, so maybe not one for the people who like to build complex spreadsheets about Anno and the likes.

It's get a couple of quirks, as one might expect from an early access game, but they seem to get addressed pretty quickly, and the devs seem to be pretty responsive in general.

I backed the kickstarter for this because I love the art of Jakub Rozalski.
The gameplay feels "Good enough", but not great. As widely stated, It is basically indie CoH with mechs.
The pacing feels strange. Maybe my friends and I were doing something wrong, but I tend to win too quickly to see many different units. The story is interesting, although I feel like some of the missions needed more testing.
Faction variety is somewhat lacking; balance is mostly okay but there's definitely some super-effective strategies that are hard to counter. Every faction seems to have several useless units.
I've not played as much as I'd like to, but when I have, it's not really left me wanting more.

This isn't the most glowing endorsement is it?
I still think it's worth a go, despite some missing elements. Issues with playing a dying genre I guess.

Generally, they stopped making good RTS games in 2009, and stopped making passable RTS games in 2013. This was one of the last ones through the gate.

It's not dark souls.
Good-enough mechanics, a story that's technically there, a very nice world aesthetic, and co-op. All in all, a perfectly passable experience that while unlikely to become anybody's favourite game ever, I feel is worthwhile for people who want to sink a few dozen hours into something different.

I was really hoping this would help revitalise the MMO industry, but it looks like it's just going to scare publishers away. I guess we're stuck with pre-2010 games forever.

Very enjoyable combat, very nice graphics, surprisingly good character (and kitty) customisation.
One of those games I really wish I could motivate myself to play more (not the games fault, I'm just bad at actually doing things). Obviously, it's much better with friends than random strangers, if you can put up with the unintuitive way you need to go about progressing through the story together.
