Update 3 months later: The bots are fully gone for 3 months. You might come across the occasional cheater, but that is to be expected from a game like TF2. It can't be perfect, but at least we're glad that the botting crisis is over. (If anyone reads this, ignore the outdated review below).

This game is really fun, really. The community is great (mostly, bad apples are inevitable), the music is awesome, love the artstyle, the memes coming from this game. The major issue with this game are bots.

These bots join Casual servers in waves, pick Sniper, spam voice and text chat and send you straight to Jesus Christ as soon as one pixel of you is visible for just one frame. And the hosters of these bots are even worse.

WIth impersonation, DDoS attacks, doxxing, harrassment, blackmail and literally swatting anyone who criticizes their actions, there is no world in which this behaviour should be tolerated, especially by a multi-billion dollar company like Valve. All we're asking for is a functioning anti cheat. We as a community are willing to not spend a dime on this game until something is done about it. And a simple message isn't cutting it. Remember that one tweet from 2022 saying "TF2 community, we hear you. We love this game and know you do too."? We want to see actions, we want to see these bots and bot hosters gone and a functioning anti-cheat put in place.
