Admittedly, I gave it an honest shot, but it just couldn't keep my attention.
It didn't help that the publisher performed a lot of promotions on Twitch to advertise said game, further dissuading me.
Furthermore while the game IS free to play, there's an 'optional' Crystalline Aura that makes the game feel "Pay to Progress", either Pay in Money, or Pay in Time.

In it's current state, I don't recommend it, even if it is Free to Start.

Tetris Effect: Connected is more than a game, it's an auditory and visual experience.

That's all I have to say really.

The DLC works as expected.

I got all the Gods unlocked, and about 130K Favor Refunded from the Gods I unlocked prior to the DLC.

Now it's possible to unlock all usable Gods without purchasing the DLC, but that does require a lot of time and dedication, and with new Gods coming out, that adds more effort to grind for.

I decided to opt for a one time purchase instead and have all of them available from the get go.

Before Purchasing: Do make sure your Steam and Hi-Rez accounts are linked and you're launching from the Steam client.

[This review is based on my exploration of the app, testing a couple games I have purchased, and a complete playthrough of 19XX: The War Against Destiny]

Capcom Arcade Stadium is Capcom's latest compilation of arcade games.

The initial presentation when you first launch the app is a bit frontloaded as you are given pages of tutorials to explain the game gallery. But after you read through the pages it's fairly straightforward.

1943: The Battle of Midway, the free game that comes with the app, and any purchased games are displayed in Capcom's Impress Candy Cabinets, though there are additional options, such as the Cute, the Status 18, or Generic Upright cabinets. Sadly none of the game have their original cabinet, but seeing how this layout is meant to be based on Japanese Game Centers, it makes stylistic sense. The app does show games you don't own as a means of persuading you to buy them, but you can switch the view to 'Playable' games to show only the ones you have.

Gameplay Wise, it's as one would expect of an arcade compilation, the gameplay appears to be accurate. Bringing up the pause menu allows the player to change settings such as difficulty, lives, game specific settings; but interestingly, it seems that key-bindings/controller bindings is per game, so you will have to open up each game to change them. It's not a bad way of doing it, but having it tucked in such a manner made it easy to miss.

While there isn't official online multiplayer in this game, this game does support Steam's Remote Play Together, however I have not been able to test this myself just yet.

Capcom's decision to bundle games into packs is off-putting if you only want specific games; but for people who prefer having a collection to playthrough or visit, it might be worth checking out a bundle.

Those looking for historical information like flyers, artwork, videos, and such for the games will be disappointed as there doesn't appear to be any in this app. This is a straight forward game collection.

My Recommendation: If you don't already own these games in another bundle, check out the free game first to get a feel for the app to see how it plays on your system. If you know what you're getting into, it does seem to be pretty good. I've had no issues with the games so far.

As for myself, I got a couple arcade games I wanna play for the first time, and some I wanna revisit again.

Currently Unplayable as it now requires an Epic Account, which I flat out refuse to create because I disagree with the company's business ethics.

Previously this was a really fun arcade-like sport game where you went fast, exploded the ball in the opponent's goal while listening to bangin' Monstercat music. You had several cars you could obtain and customize with different cosmetic parts to make it unique.

I had a paid entry into the game before it went free to play, so the fact that I can't use my steam account as it was hurts.

Is the game good? Well it used to be; I'm not sure now, especially since I can't login.

As bizarre as this game is, it's really fun. Different combinations of items can create some very interesting combinations of attacks, though some items can also ruin a run. There's plenty to unlock as well as well as a DLC for even more reasons to play.
