I understand the contested reviews of those that have been avid players of more recent Call of Duty titles for the better half of the last decade. I understand those that have expectations on what this game "should" be. However, this is a slight depart from the Call of Duty games of recent. The pace has been slowed down much to the likeness of older titles in the series. Less jumpy movements, less jitter combat, less acrobatics in firefights, less of the extra movement that really over-complicated PvP in a setting which otherwise needn't be overdone.

That being said, the change of pace can be absolutely jarring. I, not having liked an installment in the series for many years, find this an absolutely refreshing change of atmosphere and control. There is nothing like something that scratches an itch that has been reached in years. This game in its own beautiful way manages to bring back the classic feeling of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Graphically speaking the visuals are stunning, cutscenes are to the likeness of animated movies. The campaign (I have yet to finish) has been a treasure to play. The sounds, intense moments, an absolutely unforgettable score by Sarah, fantastic voicing and character design, and overall story management is just fantastic. There is absolutely an iconic installment being made into the series right here that is being very much so undercut by the outspoken critics.

I implore you to give this a sincere chance if you like competitive shooters - especially if you like older CoDs in the series. I think you will enjoy what this has to offer. It goes without being said that the game surely has issues. Crashes and periodic 10 second freezes are still somewhat a problem, there are guns that are clearly better than others. However the newer leveling structure, perk system, and attachment progress methods ensure you see a variety of weapons that must be used.

Give it a shot and don't watch the Dr lmao
