Played this with my sis and we had a great time.
Visuals and gameplay are amazing!
I recommend using a controller.

Short but sweet. Loved the story, the world and especially Ayane.
Had so much fun that I got the cosmetic DLC to support the devs.

I have pretty mixed feelings about Shattered Space.
I've played through all the quests, which took about 40 hours and was somewhat enjoyable.
Considering the high price, I was hoping for an expansion on par with Far Harbour for Fallout 4, but in many aspects, Shattered Space falls short of this.

To be fair, the station and planet are very beautiful and I appreciated that everything was contained in one map that was filled with many places to explore. Clearly a lot of effort was put into handcrafting a genuinely interesting world to explore. Bethesda nailed at least that part.
While the architecture isn't as mystical as the Varuun Embassy, it still looks new and interesting, so I did like walking around the part of the city that wasn't blown up before your arrival.

Unfortunately, it seems that some other corners were cut during development. There is only one actually new weapon (Penumbra), the rest are reskins of the Solstice, Equinox, Orion and Microgun. Most of the clothes/suits are the same that we already know, just recoloured and sometimes with a scarf. There are also no new ship parts. I was expecting the Varuun to have vastly different technology, but it's just the same as everyone else's, which makes them a lot more bland than expected.

The worst part is the writing. Much like in the main game, when you arrive, you're immediately declared the chosen one and put in charge of everyone's problems. A few characters aren't happy about it, but they never get in your way. You can mock their religion at every turn and these supposedly devoted people will just let it slide so that the story can continue its very linear course. While you can learn about the mainstream Varuun culture, the Zealots get very little love. They remain nameless enemies with no redeemable qualities that you can kill without a second thought and there's no option to join them either.

The most jarring manifestation of bad writing though is that Andreja plays no role in an expansion about her home. She barely acknowledges anything at all. There really should have been a lot more lines for her to say and some personal quests.

Overall, despite releasing over a year later, Shattered Space addresses only one of the flaws of the base game (sparse, randomly generated maps) and doesn't offer anything remarkable beyond that and some pretty views. It's fairly enjoyable to play once (if you can brush past the poor writing), but is definitely overpriced and frankly should have been included in the base game, so unless you can get it heavily discounted, I can't recommend it.

I like this game, but you need a very good GPU to play it properly. My 3070 can't handle it, even on low settings. The listed System Requirements are clearly not accurate.

Quite an eerie experience. It's definitely a story I'll remember.

Even better than the predecessor! Unknown Space has all the aspects I loved about Nexus and adds to that graphical, UI and shipbuilding enhancements.

I love this game so much! There aren't many that get exploration so right.
It's feels like if you were in command of a science ship in Stellaris,
going from one system to the next, finding anomalies, etc.
There's always something interesting or valuable to find wherever you go.
On top of that it's somewhat a Roguelite since you can research and build upgrades for your ship.
That results in what I find to be a very fun loop, where you go explore and fight for a while,
then go back to your base to research and expand the ship and repeat.
The story has been surprisingly interesting as well. Big mysteries to solve.

Cars are kinda janky, but I still had a lot of fun taking over Steelport.

I love that this is purely cosmetic content and that everything functional is added in free updates.
Bought it to support the awesome development team.
