2024/08 Update: Bungie is now a former shell of itself, The future is very bleak. Whatever you hear isn't content delivery, this is a maintenance mode as their efforts are going into Marathon and this "gummybears" project.
In my opinion there is no point playing this game anymore except for experience the Forsaken and Final Shape experience. They won't ever release an expansion and have stopped using the term internally. Their focus is on smaller scaled content. Your time is better suited elsewhere.
It was a fun ride, I enjoyed the good times over the bad...right now, coming home Ace.

Where to start?

I remember buying Destiny 2 on Xbox One to play with my friend when it launched, I was a big fan of Destiny 1 despite its flaws and loved the Taken King expansion. But the game wasn't fun and not great at launch, so I traded my copy for a game called Monster Hunter World.

But as the years went by, I was browsing Battle.net when it was only on that platform, they had a big sale and you purchase everything for a reasonable price including the Forsaken expansion and past content.. I thought why not, and since I'm playing on PC my experience may be better.
And honestly, I really loved my time playing Destiny 2 when Forsaken was out. I completed the main stories for the Base game, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and eventually got to Forsaken. And Forsaken was the best time I had playing the game, I loved the cutscenes, the acting and design of the expansion's contents. I still remember getting max level (Yes, a level system. Once you hit it, you were gold and just needed better gear) and grinding missions, Forsaken had some of the best designed locations, the Dreaming City is one of my all time favourite locations
You didn't have to worry about an artefact, you simply played the damn game and did whatever you wanted.

When I wanted to get better gear and experience more content, I needed to join a Clan. And I joined one and soon, I was invited to play my first ever Destiny 2 raid which was one hell of a introduction. I was completely stupid to most mechanics but remembered some, and was able to be alright. We wiped a bit but we managed to get to the end do some cheesing.
And I remember on 08/07/2019 I opened a chest to get an item, and I received Thousand Voices which was a 5% drop rate chance. I had no idea about this and told my clan what I got and they freaked out I got it as my first raid.
Moments like that was awesome, we did some more raiding together.

But I had a major burn out after completing moments of triumph during Season of Opulence. I played a bit of New Light, But this never managed to really keep my hooked for so long completed the story and loved the concept and the design but something just didn't engage me as before and I felt burn out again. I kept returning on and off until Season of the Lost which I felt was the best time playing Destiny 2 again before Shadowkeep. But soon as Shadowkeep launched, completed the story and did some content...I lost interest playing, it felt more like a chore than trying to play a video game. It become more like homework than a form of entertainment. I returned to play in Season 19: Season of the Seraph to prepare for the launch of Lightfall which I was able to complete the story and battle pass.

When Lightfall launched, I was excited because I loved the Synthwave and being Lightfall, the one that was supposed to be the big thing. I completed the story on Legendary, really good challenges and I liked the mini-bosses. It was a good experience...but the theme, the story, the characters, the plot, the ending just simply felt wrong, it felt unfinished, strung together.
And this was when Bungie started to really change how they do business, it became much greedier and awful to the community when they said they wanted to respect players time and improve the experience.
I actually enjoyed playing Season 20: Season of Defiance content much more than the expansion's base campaign. But after this, I lost all interest in playing after Bungie constantly stuck their head into the sand and tried to be greedy and say everything was fine.

And what do you know! Destiny 2 was nominated for Best Community Support! My heart goes out to the ones that got fired for being nominated for this...while the award came at a bad time, it's incredibly disgraceful that Destiny 2 has a nomination for an award.

The best thing about Destiny 2 is the gameplay, the combat and gunplay is really engaging and quite smooth. I'm impressed how it still holds up, some of the dungeons, strikes and raids can be quite fun! But if you want to experience different content, prepare to do some homework.

Just amazes me how I was having so much fun playing in 2019, only to have Bungie create homework and call it fun.
