I'm an avid Bethesda modder, but really just can't recommend Starfield.

Fallout 4, despite all that it did wrong, still had something to it that Starfield doesn't have. A spark of soul, creativity, or something along those vague lines.

The biggest positives I have for Starfield are that there are 2 questlines I found legitimately engaging (UC Vanguard and Sysdef) and I was able to have legitimate discussions with people about the outcomes of these quests as well as the dungeons they have you explore. The bigger of the two positives in my eyes is that a Bethesda game finally has PBR rendering. (unfortunately not in a game I want to play again)

I have little to no desire to replay this game. I consider Fallout 4 to be a pretty mediocre game, but still always feel drawn back into that world. Starfield offers no such feeling for me; I feel I have explored everything there is to see in the world of the game; the same 4 repeated structures that dot every planet you come across.

Really the biggest issue is that Io doesn't have any volcanoes though

It so overwhelmingly disappoints me that I have to leave a negative review, and I sincerely hope that I am proven wrong after posting it, that I missed something.

There's barely anything new. The new endings are just twists on each respective one's original ending, all centering around the same core joke. Of the time I have spent playing the game, most of it was searching for anything, *anything* new outside of the bucket endings.

While I enjoyed the Stanley Parable 2 Expo jokes, once you're done with them, you're basically done. Whilst part of this no doubt is a critique of half-baked remakes of beloved games, this is one that took 5 years of waiting and $25 to come into my hands. It pains me that I was left wanting so much more.

Again, I sincerely hope and pray that there's something, anything, that I'm missing. Some tucked away door, some crevasse containing what my expectations held, but from all my searching, I am afraid that it's not the case.

Just look up the new content online. It isn't worth your money.

Good game with good gameplay, a mediocre story and pretty bad speech choices. Definitely worth picking up on sale, and definitely worth modding.

A fantastic open world RPG that has made me play hundreds of hours on the PS3. The opening may be a little confusing to people who haven't played any previous elder scrolls game, but you will learn as the story goes on.
