Outer Wilds is one of those games that I find myself desperately wanting to gush about, but having to bite my tongue in fear of spoiling all of it for people I want to play it. If you're still on the fence about playing what I consider one of my favorite games, allow me to re-contextualize my experiences with this game.
As a somewhat jaded 20-something year old with very little to look forward to, I'd often lose myself in the motion of everyday life. Seldom do games like this come by and shake up the monotony.
While playing this game, I felt like a child again, trying to piece together a puzzle that was bigger than I could truly comprehend. I'd make silly theories in my head, or lose track of time while exploring each planet. I was so excited to learn new things, test my theories, and fail over and over.
There is so much love oozing from this game, bundled with charming characters, a wonderful soundtrack, and a gripping narrative that, well... You'll just have to figure out for yourself.
