Finding a decent RP server makes this game a whole lot more fun. Whitelisting is almost mandatory if you want an experience that doesn't involve being beach camped.

I never was keen on Divinity but this blows it out of the water by far.

Plus I love how much Astarion gives me sass.

Early Access Review
Early access game so it has a long way to go, but what's there now is promising and I can't wait to see it develop further. Yes there are bugs, yes there are missing features, but people should realise that when choosing to support the game by purchasing it.

As of the 21st of June the new beta is an honest improvement over the alpha, with the development showing huge progress with the new models, sounds and music for the game.

Any concerns of the game remaining an asset flip should be discarded as the game can only go upwards from this point on.

I love the PS1 era graphics and the Souls-eque combat system. There is a big difficulty jump after the first boss though so don't be too mad when you start dying because you run out of stamina in a fight!

I loved this game as a kid and the remastered version brought all the nostalgic joy back! It even has Manic Mansion inside, which is a game within a game!

Before you jump to a conclusion, ignore the reviews complaining about "drama" from the devs.

For early access there isn't much content (as expected) but every day you play, something different happens. I'd recommend buying this game just to support development and to help keep the frequent updates coming!

2020 Edit:

So it's been quite a few years since I reviewed the game, back when it was still on an older map with older models. Evrima is here now and for any newcomers, I would recommend your research before purchase. While the new recode looks promising and some of the newer Devs are really showing their commitment and effort, it's taken a long time to get to this point and it feels as if it might still be a longer time before we see anything that was originally promised.

2020 Edit x2:

So after the recent issues I have decided to uninstall this product and no longer am I intending to support it. From a £200 donation to developers that was likely burned away on something else, the actions of the development team in defending the behaviour of their own staff is abhorrent. Banning and claiming 'fake' over certain legal aspects has finally pushed me to remove this game and I sincerely hope that the creator 'Dondi' realises that his so-called 'cyberbullying' will earn him no respect.

Great game with frequent updates and a great community behind it! I've clocked a few hours into this game now and being a total dinosaur/prehistoric nerd I'm really excited to see all my favourites in-game, alongside the new ones being released via the Dev's 'Introduction' Dossiers.

For many people, optimization is an issue but I have to stress that this is an Early Access game and therefore the game's performance will gradually improve over the course of its development. That being said, my mid-tier PC can run this game perfectly fine at a minimum of 30-40fps.

Server-wise, I would strongly recommend that new players find private servers to join rather than the Official ones. There is a lot of lag due to abandoned buildings or oversized bases on the official servers and I've found that joining a private server is better at guaranteeing a more enjoyful experience.
