I feel like the audience for this type of game is somewhat niche, but if you are someone who loves (or can appreciate) both typical book smart trivia as well as 90's pop culture, you'll have a good time.

I also like how the questions are separated into different themed episodes. It can suck if you don't know anything about that episode's theme, but the fact that no questions will be repeated in any other episode more than makes up for it. That was a main complaint I had about YDKJ 1-3.

Very fun multiplayer experience, especially with friends. Don't take it too seriously or you're gonna have a bad time.

Very enjoyable, chill game with interesting, enjoyable characters that tackle problems that echo real life, although at times it can only scratch the surface. The fantasy characters in modern day slice of life is a concept I would love to see more game tackle, as it allows some great analogies to be made. Great soundtrack too.

Only downside is that I feel like it ended too early, but that can be taken as a compliment as too how much I enjoyed this concept. If there's ever DLC or a sequel, I'll be on it ASAP.

Would highly recommend if you like slice of life genre. If you don't, you may get bored.

A must have for any owner of a VR headset who at least slightly enjoys rhythm games. The simple, colorful style looks great any number of headsets, and the gameplay is addicting as Guitar Hero was back in the day, maybe even more so.

Only played 3.5 hours of this review because I dread playing this game.

Why?

Because it's too many spooks.

If you played Danganronpa 1 or 2 (which you really should before this), you know what you are getting yourself into. Crazy class trails, a colorful cast of characters, and a weird blend of humor and drama that somehow works. It really is more of the same, which isn't a bad thing since the first and second games were amazing in my opinion.

So, let's talk about what's different than the first two games. The game feels more polished with improved 3D graphics in some places. They kinda stick out due to the 2D board cutout all the characters are, but you do get used to it after a while.

The soundtrack is amazing, with even more tracks that I just can't help myself from looping on YouTube while doing something else, even long after I have beaten the game.

The first and last class trial are highlights for the series, thought the middle ones can't really compete with the other game's middle trials. They're still decent, but just not "funhouse" level good.

There are some new minigames in the class trails now too. First, there are Scrum Debates, where the trail splits into two teams both defending a point. The gameplay is fairly simple, but it's a welcomed addition to break up the montony of the normal Nonstop Debates (also the theme music for Scrums is amazing).

Mass Panic Debates are also new, where 3 Nonstop Debates happen at the same time, and you have to find the contradiction in one of them. The music really adds to the hetic panic feel of this gameplay, and there arn't as many weak points per nonstop debate so it is fairly leveled (though last trail's is still really hard).

Psyche Taxi replace Logic Dive, and there's also a much improved Hangman's Gambit. There's also this minesweeper like minigame that left me so unimpressed that I can't even be bothered to look up the actual name of the minigame. It's not hard, but it's also not too enjoyable. This is def the weakest minigame.

Finally, I usually don't bring up endings in a review because... well, it's an ending, and that's semi-spoilers for even slightly talking about it. But this ending is a make it or break it point for the series. You're gonna either love it or fall into dispair because of it. And, really, an ending that splits the fanbase up that evenly into people who like it and those who don't mirrors the hope vs despair theme the Danganronpa series is all about. So, I think it's an amazing ending.

In summary, I'd recommend this game. I had a blast connecting with the characters, watching the witty dialouge, and finding condradictions in logic.
