Fully recommend and would willingly pay at least $15 for the game if it wasn't free.

The default escape mode vs AI SCP's is super fun although increasingly easy the more players you have in the lobby to keep their eyes on Peanut or to split the attention of the various SCP's to different areas of the map.

Procedural generated map by seed makes it very replayable. My first successful escape was by playing the same map seed multiple times with friends on easy difficulty. Now we generate a new map seed each game for a fresh experience and try to escape.

The breach mode is like "SCP: The Foundation", it can be pretty fun but also sometimes slow if you are on a server with few people and someone likes to hide all game.

If you are lucky you will never have the "Memory Access Violation" error however i did have one friend of the 8 who play with me that had this error on their new computer. Luckily the game could run on a toaster so they decided to play on their laptop instead of trying to figure out what was causing the issue.

Final note: In case you were wondering about Peanut's booty stain.. It's blood and poop lol

Things you can expect:

1. Servers crashing
2. Corrupt save files due to server crashing
3. Replaying the start of the game multiple times due to corrupt saves
4. Little to no controller support (Xbox only unless you force Steam input or use 3rd party app)


Doesn't support PS4 controller, i have to use my keyboard to open the map and acceleration is On/Off instead of gradual.. YOU CAN'T EVEN RE-BIND THE MAP BUTTON!!? In the couple days since it was free and me and a few friends started playing 2/5 of us had our game saves CORRUPT which was very frustrating to troubleshoot and ended in them having to delete their local save and start over. The game would open to main menu but once opening solo or multiplayer it would load to a black screen. The cause of their save file corrupting was due to them buying items in-game as the servers crashed globally.

I have better controller support on my ancient CD copy of Need for Speed Underground 2, and the game lets you turn when you're downshifting or braking lol.

Final note: The game looks beautiful, but i wont be buying because something so basic and simple as controller support is missing.

10/10 Would throw a running lawn mower at my neighbors face again.

This neighbor learns... He knows too much!

1st Spawn: Break window and sneak into house then open bedroom door and hide under bed, eventually gets caught.
2nd Spawn: Break same window and get snared in a bear trap then open bedroom room door and bucket of water hits me in the head.. Go to hide under bed and camera watches me do so, neighbor catches me immediately.

The game is a classic and im so happy the devs breathed new life into it and the multiplayer!

Never had such a good laugh with friends in voice before! It's silly fun like the dawn of prop hunt was.

The amount of player crafted maps that keep getting built keeps the game fresh or have some fun and build your own map if you're a creative fella.

Pro tip for best fun... TURN ON BALL COLLISION :D then watch as people try their hardest to foil the plans of the players in first.. Makes the putting field like a curling rink haha

I have BFG and the original, I HIGHLY recommend to get the original instead although both are decent. The only reason you should consider BFG is for the 3D and occulus support if thats your thing. Read this before you decide on purchasing BFG edition.

--------Long form reasons for Original over BFG--------

- Gameplay mechanic changes. One of the controversial changes in BFG was the addition of the built in flashlight and removal of the flashlight weapon/item. It sounds silly to fuss over but you really need to experience the original masterpiece the way it was made to be played before bashing people for complaining about it. The game had many key scenes that were structured around that game mechanic. They pull off genuinely spooky scenes where the lights would go out and they time appearances or jump scares perfectly with how long it takes to pull out your flashlight. The flashlight mechanic was like a double edged sword, while equiped you were ready to proceed with full knowledge of your surroundings but limited on what you can do about them while gun equiped in a dark hall you might pass by a hidden foe ready to give you a surprise attack from behind!
-BFG is awefully bright in comparision to the Original, like horribly bright. Maybe it had something to do with making it for occulus rift? Perhaps 3D doesn't look good with pitch black corners so they filled all dark spaces with a light gray? Whatever the reason you probably wont even end up using the new flashlight mechanic on BFG with how visible everything is. This added to the flashlight mechanic you should expect BFG to be more of a run n gun shoot em up style game whereas Original Doom 3 will be leaning much more towards the sci fi horror. The amazing shading and shadows in original doom 3 are vastly reduced with the brightness in BFG thinning the line between "that looks amazing" and "those textures look 11 years old.." which brings me to my next point..
- There have been many custom mods created for original Doom 3 that are not compatible with BFG and make the game look better than even the latest and greatest titles out there. There are some good pre-compiled mod packs with multiple mods mixed in you can find with simple instructions with a quick google search. I recommend Sikkmod 1.2, Monoxead high-res texture pack, and Trent Reznor's sound pack. I have a 6 core CPU and AMD 6970 and some of the settings with shadows and shaders Sikkmod offers can really make a modern PC struggle, play around with it and find what works for your rig.

This is everything i have always wanted in a game. Although it's still in Early Access state, it is ABSOLUTELY playable! It is a fully functioning game and so far i have yet to find any flaws other than the need for polishing up on cpu/gpu resource management and efficiency. The official servers are overwhelmingly packed but there are plenty of community servers and more show up everyday!
The games world rules are equivalent to what you would expect from a Hardcore PVP minecraft server. Absolutely EVERYTHING is raidable which means no items on the server are 100% safe from being stolen. Yes you can put up measure of protection for your items that will deter almsot anyone from stealing your stuff but if they try hard enough they can get them. When you log out your character starts sleeping on the ground on the spot you logged off leaving him and his inventory exposed to plundering unless you have either a good hiding spot or a nice house with a locked door. Claim the land your home is on and only you will be able to remove or place blocks on it and they will need to make a seige weapon to break in. Seige weapons are expensive and hard to use and leave the user vulnerable to other players sneaking up on them if they are not with a group so rest assured your items should be fairly safe behind locked doors.
Basically you gather supplies, and food which involves hunting animals, foraging berries, chopping down trees, gathering rocks, etc all to make your gear and your base, gather up friends and make allies on the server, join a guild or make a guild, group up and see if you can seize the throne for your own faction! Kind kings who give players guidance and have low taxes are usually supported by the playerbase of the server whereas most kings who come into power and raise the taxes to the roof are short lived when the furry of the whole server rallies up to get their vengence! Tax will literally tax everything you collect or harvest from the map, 50% tax? half the wood and stone you collect is instantly transported to the kings chest. Good kings never raise it above 10% and if your lucky 5%
You can build a bed as a spawn point otherwise you will land on a random location of the map when killed, if you join a different server you start from scratch with new players and a new map.
