This is not a review about graphics, gameplay loops etc. because being out so long and so often on sale you maybe know what type of game Hunt: Showdown (now Hunt Showdown 1896) is.
I bought Hunt: Showdown back in 2021 but I couldn't really get into it, especially solo back then. I then started playing again in Dec 2023 and now I can't get enough. Don't be like me and stop after a few hours - Get 1-2 friends to play and learn the game together or look up a few streamers to learn the mechanics and start playing with Randoms - it really isn't that bad and you will learn from them. Yes you will die a lot - and this will likely never change - but once you get the hang of it Hunt will never grew old. Every round plays different and there are so many playstyles so the replaybility is nearly endless.
Because of this even major problems like tick rate/trades, the new UI and a few minor bugs don't stop me from playing.
So give it a try - but really try to overcome the first 10-30 hours playtime and you will see the full potential of this game.
