It's a free game so it's not like you'd lose anything. Definitely worth trying but I couldn't say I would recommend it. I dropped this game like 2 or 3 years ago just cuz I got into other ♥♥♥♥. It had some pretty annoying bugs then but there were promises that they'd be fixed. Just played a bit again... same ol' bugs, same ol' problems. They made some minor improvements I guess but it's unfortunate when the game just plain doesn't work.

What is Helldivers 2? It is a fast paced, choatic video game where you dive into worlds and play as actual cannon fodder into a crazy galactic war, and kill bugs, bots, and frequently your fellow divers on accident (or purpose). But... it's more than that. Helldivers is one server, where everyone plays together to fight a galactic war and push back on multiple fronts. Most games have many sub communities, but Helldivers is one entire community, fighting **together**. I have never felt such unity with random players before as we are all one unit working together, listening and talking to one another on how we are to win the war. If you missed the debacle with Sony, this shines ever truer. Sony attempted to ban 177 countries, fellow helldivers that I fought alongside with in some of the most stressful epic gameplay ever, and forcefully require to sign up with their network. The community, which has been banding together to fight bugs and bots, banding together to fight Sony, and we won. When you play helldivers, you aren't just playing a game, you are participating an active community that is working as a unit and you can feel it. When I feel an urge to play this game, it's not because of how fun it is (although that is pretty great) it's because I feel the urge to participate in the great fight that the community is on.

That's what Helldivers really is.

Play this game high as a kite and keep yourself high as a kite. Every puzzle is a backwards and twisted way of thinking and in a way their own life lesson. I played this game once last year and will be playing it again here soon and might make it a yearly tradition. It's not the kind of game you buy to play a lot. It's not designed for you to invest lots of time into. If I had to describe the game I would describe it as a self help book that makes you critically think about the puzzle, and with the lessons of the puzzle you can apply them to your life. 10/10 would recommend.

Freeman Guerrila Warfare is a first person shooter with a campaign map for moving your army around and trying to kill the enemy. If you are familiar with mount and blade, it's very similiar to that, as you have a campaign map, towns, and in combat can control your different squadrons around. Reccomending this game is extremely difficult as it's still very underdeveloped due to it's early stage, however it can be fun in small bursts of play. Reason being that there is currently not much you are able to do beside, hire units, kill other units, train your units, kill bigger units.
This will likely be fixed as there will most likely be loads of ♥♥♥♥ to do, diplomacy will more than likely be in the game, you will be able to visit the town, have a more immersive feel for the game, etc. however they aren't there yet. For fifteen dollars it's hard to say you're playing what you're buying. But also I've bought more expensive games with less enjoyment to them. Buy this game if you're buying what it can be and want to see it grow, not however what it is.
-Also by any chance if the devs see this one suggestion for the future-
One thing I always wanted from warband but never got was a real strategy to the game, rather than saying "campaign here" I always wanted to feel like I was commanding a real royal army, that I could tell people to hold strategic points and such. Always wanted to feel like I was playing Medieval chivalry and total war's love child. And if you really want to go above and beyond, I think if you could immpliment a strategic aspect such as that, gamers such as myself would deeply appreciate it. (No rush! ^_^)

Was really disappointed by this game, although they did a complete rework on the combat the game really is the same as the other. Was excited to hear about the fortresses and all that however really they are just zones in an area like in the first one. When attacking a fortress you don't really use strategy its just get the strongest guys you can and you'll win. If you really liked the first one you'll love this, but if you were like me and felt like the first one was missing something, this won't be an improvement.

*Was* a really good game. But untill they fix their newest update it's absolutely garbage. Used to be really realistic with even the weakest weapons dealing heavy damage. Now some of the strongest are even weaker than starter weapons. Do NOT waste your time untill they fix their ♥♥♥♥.
