Though I would be wary of Sony's intentions with this game going forward, I can now cautiously recommend Helldivers 2 to PC players.

This would be a great game to put into a homemade arcade cabinet. Very addicting.

I went into this game completely blind. I heard the animations were hand drawn, and being an animation nerd I decided to buy it on that alone. I didn't regret it.

The artstyle of this game isn't just amazing to look at, it helps tell the story. Rather than relying so on much on scattered notes and character dialogue, the story of Hollow Knight is told largely through the enviroment. And the enviroment is incredible and varied. You never know what's around the corner, and your curiousity to see everything there is is one of the many things that push you to keep playing. The juxtaposition of the extremly dark and lonely atmosphere (All helped along with a great soundtrack) with the cute bug designs and interesting NPCs you meet along the way made for a really unique enviroment to explore.

I'm not much of a metroidvania player, and hard, punishing games aren't my thing. You will die in this game quiet a bit. It never feels like a cheap death though. The controls and movement feel fluid and natural. And when you're fighting one of the many, many bosses and mini-bosses, and finally win, it feels great. It feels even better when you find a new one and manage to beat them in one try. It's difficult, but satisfying.

After having played it a while I can tell this is one of the most tightly designed games of all time. I can't even think of nitpicks. I still can't believe this game is under $20, it's better crafted and filled with more content and charm than most Triple-A games. There's a lot more I could praise but I'll keep it brief and spoiler-free. Just play it and experience it for yourself.

It such a charming game that reminds me of the games of my childhood. I can't recommend it enough. My only complaint is I wish it was a longer game, but despite that it has a ton of replay value for those those who like challenges.
