This game must be removed out of Steam immediately! First is awful experience, second is poor content. And the last one is network experience is really really bad, although low ping but there is a big lag usually during play this game. New player should not install this one, they just waste your time and disk space.

In my personal top 3 favorite games. The literal only complaints I have of this game is the action camera occasionally focuses on environment instead of characters & that the early game relies way too heavily on RNG Luck. Excluding those two complaints, this is a near perfect game if you like role playing, user-friendly customization, strategy, and/or tactical-related games.

Destiny is an online multiplayer (or solo) action shooter with rpg elements. You play as a superpowered guardian (3 classes) and you play different activities to level up and upgrade your gear.

Destiny is probably my favorite game franchise at this point. I've found something to enjoy in each release, started more casually but became much more interested after year 1. With Bungie's split from activision and the release of shadowkeep and new light the game is in a great spot.

For those that have never played, there is a free version of destiny called new light that includes all the year 1 content and rewards, including
-The base game
-The curse of osiris DLC
-The warmind DLC
-Year 1 strike missions
-Year 1 Nightfall missions (More difficult)
-Year 1 Raids (6 player pinnacle activities)
-PVP modes
-Gambit which combines PVP and PVE
-exotic weapon quests
-Secret missions like the whisper, zero hour, and bad juju which are some of my favorite levels ever
-Titles and triumphs to chase
-9 full planets to explore (Including the moon from shadowkeep
-Year 2 activities like forges, gambit prime, and the menagerie (Although I don't think you can get year 2 loot from them)
-Seasonal events like iron banner (pvp), festival of the lost (Halloween), the dawning (winter), crimson days (valentine's day), the revelry (spring), and solstice of heroes (summer)

As for year 3, they have introduced a season pass that allows a free section so if you have new light you'll still be getting year 3 content, just not as much as season pass owners.

This is an insane amount of free content. However if you end up loving the game and run out of things to chase I highly recommend the forsaken expansion which is now cheaper I believe, it includes
-Forsaken campaign
-2 maps (with many endgame activities)
-The Last Wish Raid
-A Dungeon (Harder mission)
-4 new strikes
(Now includes the annual pass content:)
-Forges, gambit prime, reckoning, and the menagerie; with new light you can play these but I believe you need forsaken to get the rewards of which there are many)
-tons of exotic quests

Shadowkeep which just released includes
-Shadowkeep campaign
-1 new map (The moon)
-2 new strikes
-The Garden of Salvation Raid
-New dungeon
-New finishing move emotes
-Armor 2.0 update
-Many quality of life updates
-New pvp maps and modes
-new exotic quests

Destiny has been through many ups and downs. It has some flaws to make note of. Due to the power of weapons and many exploits, overpowered weapons and abilities are nerfed or adjusted so not all weapons always feel the same. This can make pvp especially frustrating at times, but once they make adjustments it returns to normalcy. There are also microtransactions through the eververse store, but they are purely cosmetic and don't affect gameplay.

As for the positives, there is just so much to do. Experienced players often finish the newest content and run out of things to do or feel burnt out but I keep hearing stories of new players who are almost overwhelmed by all the things to do. Don't feel like you have to do everything, I'd say just have fun running through the campaigns and go from there whether you prefer pvp or pve or both. The art style and music are and always have been amazing and many of the planets are beautiful to explore.

While the destiny community can often be found complaining on reddit about weapon changes and small details, there is still a lot to love about the game and the community often rallies together to show support. Due to the multiplayer, it's easy to find players to help you. I'm sure as a destiny fanboy I'm overlooking a number of flaws, but they honestly don't bother me and I enjoy nearly everything in the game (except getting boss stomped.) I highly recommend giving it a try especially since most of it is now free. There's something for everyone and I think it's definitely worth checking out.

It holds up on its own. If you never played any other MH game you’ll absolutely love it. It’s a great one for beginners.

However it’s really annoying if you’ve played them before, there’s a lot of handholding. And I mean A LOT. Constantly when you’re out and about you’re led by “scoutflies” which are glittering paths leading you right to your target. It takes away the satisfaction of feeling like you’ve actually tracked the monsters. You can even see them on your map all the time which takes away half the fun.

The music is nice at times but gets lost outside the villages. It’s all fanfare most of the time. But then again nothing's ever as good as the Pokke Farm theme. I still wish there were more non-orchestral pieces.

The story is easy enough to ignore. It doesn’t have many striking or engaging main cast members really. There are some interesting ones later one once you get past the first two environments.
It doesn’t read like a MH game in the way it’s so in your face; on top of that the writing is mediocre. In the older ones the story was in the quest descriptions so it was more a background deal. Writing really isn’t a strong point for these games.

The environments are visually pleasing, the variance between locations is massive. When they say World they really mean it.

The new monsters have a lot of character and are unique. Very pleasing aesthetically and don’t seem out of place in the MH universe.

While they have a lot of variance and creativity in their attacks, the combat still feels the same between all of them. It’s extremely easy to find materials for armor and weapon upgrades so the difficulty margin doesn’t feel like it increases from one monster to the next. All of them feel very at level if not slightly below.

The three times I’ve fainted in combat didn’t feel like I’d deserved it. They were all a result of unavoidable attacks and waiting on the recovery frames.

Overall great for beginners to MH, but the excitement for those that have experienced Freedom Unite/Generations will ultimately be a bit dissatisfied with the combat. Definitely worth playing even then, I’ve still enjoyed it to some extent.

Honestly I can see myself going back to Generations after a while. I’ll give MHW:
4/10 Music
4/10 Story
7/10 Character design
9/10 Environments
10/10 Monster Design
6/10 Combat and gameplay

If you haven’t played MHFU or Generations, grab yourself a 3DS and get to it.
