Still getting a lot of crashes. can be really frustrating. You work 12 hours in the mines to get home to play one match, do all objectives, wait a minute for extraction only to have the game crash at :50 seconds left...

Love it. Wished there was the option to COMPLETELY remake your character.
Played rougly 20 hours with a female orc until I couldn't bare the hideous creature anymore!
Now I embrace the ugly toad-skin and play as morally bankcrupt Githyanki Warlock.

300h milestone! \o/ Updates are great

Update 01.Dec.23: Fiiine. I'll be appeased with the Vanguard bundle. Game is great. Wish Aquilas could be earned ingame.

Update: The big class rework is great and exactly what the game needed! This would merit my review being changed to positive. We're at 1.0 readiness, as it should have been released.
HOWEVER I'm still clutching my pearls until there is a ramification after the console release debacle, so this stays negative.

Update: Only two new maps have been added and no subclasses. Broken Promises all around.

TL;DR: The game still needs a while until the core gameplay loop is fully developed. The gunplay and melee is super cool and fun.

The problem, however, is how to unlock equipment. In Vermintide you got different tiers of loot depending on the difficulty + even better stuff by collecting grimoires and so on. In DT, the difficulty and optional objectives have NO influence on drops. Even mini-bosses in a mission don't give you anything, like mats for crafting. Btw, crafting is not yet implemented! Update: At least now, playing difficult games grants a high tier drop too. But only for finishing! Performance Bonus does not exist, as far as I know.
You can only get new items through complete RNG at the end of each round or through a shop that refreshes every hour.
In another shop you can buy better loot, but for that you need special currency which you get through weeklies.
But the weeklies are boring as hell and make sure that max-level characters play the missions on the easiest difficulty to complete "15 missions" or "kill 750 enemies in melee combat". -.-
Another point is the lack of a story. In the course of the 30 levels you get a cutscene every now and then in which absolutely nothing worth mentioning happens.
The maps are also not varied enough. There are only a handful and they have no story content, unlike in Vermintide or Left 4 Dead, where you play certain sections of a campaign. The mission selection à la Deep Rock Galactic is also deceptive: you don't play a randomly generated map but a linear level X on difficulty Y with secondary objective Z.
I guess it will be a really good game in a year and I will gladly come back then and update my review.

A nice little life-affirming piece of art! Doesn't overstay its welcome with its length. Only downside is the backtracking if you want to get 100% combined with the lack of a map.

Awesome Roguelike, big emphasis on regular use of all available equipment. Less synergetic than Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon, which could be a good thing. High skill ceiling, learning to parry seems to be vital to get far. With 100 hours in, I managed to get to NG+2.

One of my all time favorite games, highly recommended, be it at full price or on sale.
Best aspects:
- Great setting (1895, almost-lovecraftian swamp horror)
- Interesting weaponry
- Balanced loadouts
- Progression is interesting enough
- Monetization mechanics seem fair to me
- Premium currency can be earned
- Good events and constant updates

Update: 1000h in, still awesome. Looking forward to that engine upgrade!
