I can't remember the last time a game made me laugh so hard. If the writing in the final game is even half as funny as in the demo, it's a 10/10.

Is it a good remaster? Yes.
Did the original game need a remaster? Definitely no.

If you already have the original game and the $10 price isn't that big of a deal for you then get it

This is exactly the game I wanted for years. No risk, no recourse management, no currency to collect, no features to unlock with missions or challenges I don't wanna do.

This is just pure, relaxing fun. Creating my own little worlds and everything just works and clicks together exactly in the way you'd expect it to! Could not ask for a better game for autumn and winter right now

Play the demo if you want, But I wouldn't recommend it. This is one of those games where the best way to play it is to go in as much as possible. I will say this - nothing and no one is as they seem

This is what Arkham City was to Arkham Asylum:
Bigger world, better gameplay, better visuals, an amazing story on the same level as its predecessor and now that the game is actually playable, I can say that BUY THIS GAME!

If you liked the original or heard a lot about it but never played it, buy this version instead of the og. It's the same game on the surface, with a new coat of paint, but after a while you start to see the new content. It's behind a door labeled "NEW CONTENT". While the original game had some great commentary on the gaming culture and industry of 2013 (year of the game's release), the new content gives the same hilarious and thought provoking commentary on gaming in 2022. All of this without harming the original experience even one bit. You can play the whole game while completely ignoring the new content.
This game really is an Ultra Deluxe version of the original game, and is the definitive way to play.

Yes... BUT!
That's the best way to describe this game.

tl;dr good game, but wait for sale and use some mods

YES, it's good. BUT you should buy it at a sale.
YES, the story is really good. BUT when the dialogue is cringe (which isn't often but also not never) it's really cringe.
YES, the gameplay is good. BUT it can get repetitive and to me it became really good only after I downloaded a mod that made the combat faster.
YES, the traversal is good. BUT aside from Batgirl's (who just has classic gliding) everyone else's is really bad. (Red Hood just double jumps to infinity, Robin teleports and it just really breaks the fluid traversal the game has, and NIghtwing has a Fortnite glider which acts just the same as Batgirl's gliding). I also found way more joy in the traversal when i downloaded mods that made it all faster, including the insanely slow Batcycle.
YES the RPG elements are good. BUT it really feels like it was meant to be more a GAS type game and I don't know why you can't change the transmogs. I, again, found way more joy when i downloaded a mod that allowed me to mix parts from every suit style and every colorway I unlocked (the same colorway on a different suit style can be a bit different and on different suits this small difference can become a really big color change for the suit).
YES, Batman's characterization is some of the best we've seen in modern media. A Batman who feels a bit more happy, and truly loves and hangs out with his family without losing what makes him Batman (seriously, listen to the audiologs they are so good). BUT we barely get to spend time with him in the game, as that's the premise of the game.

Tl;dr DON'T BUY THE GAME IT DOES'NT WORK AND ROCKSTEADY AREN'T FIXING IT

I love the Arkham games, they're some of my favorite games of all time. I have almost 1000 hours of total play time across the series. Arkham City was the first game I ever played and it got me both into gaming and Batman. And Arkham VR was the only game in the series I never played, because I needed a whole different piece of hardware to enjoy it. So imagine my excitement when I finally decided that it was time to buy a VR headset. I bought the Quest 2 (like 80% of the VR users on Steam), because of the price, the fact it didn't need any wires, and even if I wanted to play Steam VR or Rift S exclusive games I could use an airlink. I tried to play the game but it crashed a few times. I must mention it was because of me - I tried to push the game to its graphical limit with only 8GB RAM. It's a miracle my PC still works with the amount of tries it took me until I realized why it kept crashing. But all that excitement turned into even more disappointment when a few days after buying it, I booted it up and it didn't work. I couldn't find my controllers. And I wasn't the only one experiencing it. Anyone with a Rift S or Quest 2 couldn't do it after an update by Meta to their systems. This was over 3 weeks ago and there no work by Rocksteady or WB Games. It's a small VR experience from 2016, when VR was just starting to become mainstream again, they're not gonna fix it anytime soon. Or probably ever. It's sad, really.
