I replayed through the entire trilogy after around 13 years or so and boy, it left a hole in me the same way it did when I was 13 years old. These are some of my favourite quotes towards the end of the trilogy that I think pretty much summarises how ME as a franchise made me feel back then & even now.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.

The silence is your answer."
-Javik, The Last Prothean

Garrus: "There's an old saying here on Earth--may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead. Not sure if Turian heaven is the same as yours, but, if this thing goes sideways and we both end up there--meet me at the bar. I'm buying."

Shepard: "Goodybye, Garrus. And if I'm up there in that bar, and you're not... I'll be looking down. You'll never be alone."

There's a lot more like the last exchange between Tali and Shepard (mind you that exchange truly kills me too).

The title is indeed correct, how many degrees of separation away are you from getting pissed at the game and your partner?

If you want to find out, feel free to play this game -- otherwise, avoid at all costs. The art, music, and narration are not worth it at all for a mediocre gameplay.

To say this game is putrid would be an understatement, I felt like I was smuggled into the back of a minivan except the worst part was not the discovery on that laptop but how bad and unhelpful the game design and interface is. Please pirate Flappy Bird instead if you want to actually incur yourself with some brain damage -- this is totally not worth it.

Big thanks to happy30 because without listening to his remixes of the Zero Escape Soundtracks, I wouldn't have even known about this game's existence. Definitely quite an experience - I wish I could experience it all over again... really.

This what is known as Peak Fiction. A book goes along well, for sure; however, a novel with soundtracks and vibrant art is a whole another league. I suppose that only establishes how great and enticing a visual novel can get. The likes of VNs such as Umineko and The House in Fata Morgana are a few fine examples.

Would definitely experience the amnesia all over again.

This visual novel has a weird bug:

Every time a heightened scene comes up, everything becomes blurry. I mean the visual novel is of course great but man, this bug literally feels like it's raining on the reader's face. Also, I'd like to request the Developers to fix the last "part" of the Extras, the bug got 100x worse in the last portion, couldn't even read properly for crying out loud.

I perhaps don't know how to describe my experience with this game, it's just a whole rollercoaster of emotions hitting you every scene. From the joyous crowds of the festival to the cathartic ends of our young hero and heroine, The House in Fata Morgana: A Requiem For Innocence provides the reader with a perspective of life that is not only historical but also meaningful to how we lead our daily life in this day and age as well. The way time flows is very finite in our eyes but through the many lives we all lead, the finitude is only a spark: we mustn't wait for these sparks to vanish for only then we miss the advent of our meaningful existence.

Maybe in another life, our fated characters will deserve the truly utopian dream of an ending to their life that they deserved but let's never forget that tragedies we've faced throughout history.

Never let any of these series of fragments fade, for they are the meanings that add up to our memories and evidently our nostalgia.

I'm sorry, Yonah....I've been losing for centuries. This is why you never truly believe anything in life, my friends.

And thus did our journey end.

I know, i know i've let you down,
I've been a fool to myself.
I thought that i could live for no one else,
But now, through all the hurt and pain,
It's time for me to respect.
The ones you love mean more than anything.
So with sadness in my heart,
I feel the best thing i could do,
Is end it all, and leave forever.

I honestly don't know why this is even in my library. I enjoying repeating a certain timeline in the universe every now and then but that's about it. The port is broken as hell and the developers spare any concern for such tabulating issues. I perhaps won't buy another 2K or, WWE game for that matter on PC ever again. It's only as enjoyable as it gets on console and, I think almost everyone can chime in their 2 cents on how much they care about producing an efficient port for the PC.

That ends my complaint about the port; as for the game, I don't I've seen a game as depressingly sabotaged as this in years - cough, cough, WWE All Stars - not to mention Battleground. I'm not a big wrestling fan but, I did own every SVR game on PS2 and own WWE 2K19 on Xbox. I can't say I love those games but they do provide me with enough enjoyment to keep kicking the bucket again. I can't seem to express any interest in the design philosophy of this game, it's intrinsically dead and hollow. There is barely any change to the system and where there is, it's worse. For god's sake, add multi-championship title options to Universe mode already: what's so wrong with having an undisputed title system ?

VC, please stick to one set of controls, don't keep changing them every other year. I literally had to train my muscle memory to react to the reversal cues between 2K19 and 2K20: they leave me in utter confusion every now and then. While I admit that this is a thing every developer or console industry does, it's more of a generational thing rather than frequent. Remember when inverted controls were the 'norm' ? Yeah, me too. I didn't like it at all. They filled me with the most devastating nightmares- even worse than the likes of any Lovecraftian or Shelley novel.

To sum it up, Visual Concepts needs to know that its audience isn't expecting another SVR or WWE 'XX game. It wants all the fluidity and freedom those games offered, along with some innovation that doesn't have to interfere or get in the way of our enjoyment. At this point, 2K games are nothing more than mid-ranged EA excuse notes.
