Early Access Review
I've only had a little bit of time to play around with the game during my lunch break today, but what I have experienced ON TRACK during this game is top notch.

I'm not sure if it's to do with the addition of a body roll camera effect when entering corners, or the level of detail coming through the wheel, but I feel more connected to the car in Evo than in just about any other racing sim I have played.

I have a Logitech G920, with the racing adapter set at 90%. With all assists off I found myself getting very acclimated with how the cars handled, and I didn't feel like I was artificially pushing past the point of control as it can often be easy to do. That said, when I pushed to hard I could start to feel the damage I was doing to the tires and the resulting loss and change in grip that resulted.

As a base point for the game Kunos should be extremely proud of the work they have put into how the cars drive. I'm super excited for all the content that will be coming to the game, and what the future has in store for this title.

Driving Experience aside, the menu and user experience at the moment are lacking. The menus feel sluggish, and I think it has something to do with how the garage in the background of the menu is getting rendered. As I was changing my graphic settings and my fps in the menus went up, the menu started to liven up for me. As a first impression of the game, the menus being sluggish like that made me feel worried about my in game performance, but I was happy to end up with a higher frame rate ingame.

Another quirk I encountered was when I first set up my pedals, I wasn't given any indication that my inputs were defaulting to being inverted, so when I first loaded onto the track my car took off without me. It took a bit of digging for me to find the invert button, and I wasn't a fan of the fact that I needed to first click on the input, to then get into the preference tab for that input. Now that I know that's how to do it, it wont be an issue again, but when getting started it gave me a bit of frustration.

In terms of performance, i'm playing on a single screen at 2560x1440, on a Nvidia GTX 1070, and an intel i5-13600k, and I'm getting mid to low 60 fps on all tracks at mostly low settings with FSR3 enabled. The game feels very playable this way, and I felt that the graphics were still a pleasure to look at even at these settings.

TLDR: The game feels really good to drive, there are some fps issues in the menu that can be deterring to some and the game is subject to some Early Access quirks. I trust Kunos to continue working on the game and make the necessary changes.

A must have if you are into sim racing and rally. There is a good selection of cars and environments to race in. I really enjoy the rallycross events aswell.

Quite a fun game, the movement is really fun and pairs nicely with bow combat. The game is easy to pick up, but hard to master.

Timelessly fun, great for both trying hard and casual fun with friends. The game is honestly one of the most polished titles that I can think of, and everytime I come back to this game I wonder why I ever left it. The cosmetics are pricey now that crates are gone, but at the end of the day its only cosmetics, and you are given enough to begin with that it doesn't feel like they are trying to milk anything out of you. This is a must have for your steam library, if you are debating buying this game or not, just go ahead and do it. You will thank me many hours later.

After playing 100 hours i must say this game has managed to deliver something to me that most have failed. A challange in which the grind is not within the tools im given, but by my own personal skill.
