i got my second place plat as spy so i think i can speak about this. Singapore servers no longer have any "world class spies" the only one to have existed was Sno and he's left tf2 to focus on studies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTxjAPbKSkc&t=59s (sno's last vid).

That is only when you're dealing with a good squad in hl tho. Other times it just *doesn't exist*, maybe just me play too much scout and not seeing them :P

lack of frontline engagement is untrue. you just haven't run into a good spy yet.
